What Celebrities Have You Encountered?

The joke is she's lying. (And that we should all take notes on how to do it properly.)
nah it was 2002 and Jared Leto wasnt that famous. and he had a huge beard. she had legit no idea why I was talking to a homeless guy.

As a kid in the mid 80's I met Paul Newman at Watkins Glenn Race Track in New York. He was in the Paddock with his Nissan 300ZX. He apologized for not having much time for us due to prepping the car, but my cousin and I both got our picture taken with him and he was very nice. He was also a very good driver. He finished 2nd that day.

I met Patrick Dempsey at Thunderbolt Raceway in New Jersey about 9 years ago. My buddy and I went to get beers and we saw Dempsey. He looked familiar but we couldn't quite place him as he had shades, jeans, and loafers on. Two girls were excitedly getting their picture taken with him. They left and we walked by Patrick. He stopped, said hi, and I think he was waiting to see if we wanted pictures too. We talked a little then went on to beers. He seemed genuinely nice. We realized who he was when we saw his Mazda RX-8 in the Paddock. Women were going nuts over him as he backed out to get onto the track. I think Paul Newman at age 75 would have kicked his ass around the track. Patrick is a skilled driver but Newman was an excellent one.

I used to regularly see Davey Jones from the Monkeys in Selingsgrove, PA. My buddy's mom was a bartender at a Restaurant and he was there often. He was a pretty hard drinker. He seemed nice and pretty cheery. He also REALLY liked it when people recognized him and made a deal about it. He liked the notoriety.

I met R. Lee Ermey from Full Metal Jacket on a Navy Base here in Maryland. He went to different commands on the base. The other commands got the R rated "drill instructor" version of him. Our highly PC Commanding Officer asked him to tone it down so we got the PG version. Ermey shook hands, smiled, and talked to anyone who walked up to him. The Officers took up most of his time so I didn't get to do much besides say hi, tell him where I'm from, and get well wishes from him. He seems outgoing and pretty cool.

The guy who played Fender in Van Damme's Cyborg was at my Navy Boot Camp Graduation. He was apparently there to see a newphew who was in another recruit division graduate boot camp. I didn't meet him but it was cool seeing him there

I've seen a stripper in person who graduated to pornstar on internet and Showtime.

Forgot that I ran into Scott Hall "Razor Ramone" from the WWF days. I didn't talk to him. I didn't know who he was since he's older with gray hair. I just thought he was some really tall guy. He seemed like an ass. He grew up here in Southern Maryland. Nobody that knows him has anything good to say about him.

What?? He seems like a cool dude from interviews though

I actually met quite a few and only realized it later. I thought they were look-a-likes and fakes. Or they were so normal that I totally didn't notice them.

I met the greatest basketball player ever at a Gonzaga basketball camp in like 2004

I am a soundguy, so I have worked with many "star-like" people and some celebrities.

I was 10 feet away from Ron MacLean at a concert once.

I think he looked at me

I worked at a bookstore a few years ago, at the time my town was getting a lot of movie attention and I’ve met a few. I helped Nicolas Cage find some books and he was really nice. Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner came in and played with their kids in the children section and actually cleaned up after their children which was nice. Malin Akerman came in looking for Paulo Coelho books, she was super tiny and pretty attractive.

That surprised me until I remembered she was Ben Stiller's evil wife in one of his more forgettable ones.

I kicked it with sir Ben Kingsley at a Walmart. He was buying steaks he said he didn't usually like to splurge but he can't help treating himself to top quality cuts at such affordable prices.

I met Carrie Fisher about 20 years ago at some parade thing she was in, she looked like she had been on a bender for the last few days and her minders were forcing her to shake hands and make nice.
