Pyramids are trippy. I saw a documentary on it a few months back stating we didn't have technology until recently to construct the pyramids as precise as they had been and even with todays technology it would be nearly impossible to reconstruct it to be as precise as it is now.

Given that people think they did it with a hammer and some string i find that theory nearly impossible.

There is however evidence in the bible that could suggest that early civilizations were very much advanced in technology. A bible teacher who i highly respect: Chuck Smith stated this in regards to Genesis where it states that nothing that mankind cold imagine would be impossible:

the Lord looked upon the scene of the building of the tower of Babel, He spoke of how that men gathering themselves together had advanced so far in their technology, that nothing that they determined to do could be withheld from them

Now i can see how this statement is controversial and would be laughed but it would actually explain quite a bit regarding to what we have found throughout history.

I assume you're talking about the stones at Baalbek in Lebanon. It's quite true we don't have the current apparatus' to move and position blocks of this size, but it is not beyond our technology...more to do with the fact we just don't feel the need to build in such a way.

It does beg the question of "why" they did it back in history/pre-history with what seems like impunity...if there is one thing we know about human beings, they don't go out of their way to do things the really hard way when a reasonable yet similar way of doing something exists.

This is the hard way for sure, the blocks at Baalbek defy understanding...and it's frankly likely that the Romans who built the structures on top of the base at the temple of Jupiter didn't even know these blocks of stone we're there at the time...

The block they are standing on was recently uncovered, and larger than the famous one above...

They probably did not have internet, and were bored. So they applied themselves to things like achieving the most difficult physical constructions feats they possibly can.

People beat off when they are bored, they don't build monumental structures.

Some people beat off like Sherdoggers, while others do things that are productive, and like to challenge themselves.

Egypt is crazy. The stairstep evolutionary pattern their society evolved was nuts. It's always HUGE discovery, then a trail off in their discoveries, then another huge one. Repeating the pattern over and over until they got Romanized.

They did what they did because they were good at it, we're talking millennia old good at it. As an example, the work we see at Giza is the stuff of masters, not people who were bored for centuries on end. Old kingdom Egypt was the pinnacle of civilization arguably until the mid 1900 hundreds in the west. It arguably still is in many ways technologically and culturally.

Many different peoples established themselves over thousands and thousands of years in what we call Egypt.

It was a prime location, a breadbasket of humanity. Conquests and settlements were numerous.

I'm confident that the modern present day Egyptians are not the same people that built the pyramids, Sphinx, and worshipped Horus and Osiris.

It is mindboggling just how little we actually know of ancient Egypt really...

I'm playing through Assassins Creed Origins now and oh man Egypt was and still is an amazingly fascinating place. If there is one place in history I would ever go it would be to visit the Great Pyramids of Giza during its prime.

You can accomplish a lot with thousands of slaves who know they die if they stop working.. Unfortunately.

Is it the general consensus that they were actually slaves though? I've read conflicting reports. It seems that the workers were well fed and had proper burials, and would lower class slaves be able to pull this off?

The pyramids were nothing but glorified grain storing facilities!

Never happened. I always suspected a group of archeologists created that fake civilization to distract their competition from stealing their big finds elsewhere. Why don't you think there has never been an Indian Jones based in the pyramids?

Interestingly, the Pyramids of Giza were more ancient to the ancient Romans, than the Romans are now to us.
