Anytime there was a good or interesting matchup, we got great fights.

Salido/Vargas
Thurman/Porter
Santa/Frampton
Ward/Kovalev and Roman/Cuadras incoming.

The only exception was Crawford/Poston.

Do you agree with Big Dan that we didnt get enough good matchups for this year?

I think boxing could have done better this year for sure. Its not a hard concept. 3 out of the 4 good big match-ups we got this year happened to be amazing fights.

We are more than halfway through the year, and it has not been a good one overall for boxing. There have been too many pointless mismatches, too many main events offered that are barely undercard worthy, an HBO budget that has clearly been hammered and too many fighters and/or promoters or managers unwilling to make fights fans actually want to see.

At least we have guys like Espinoza trying to make shit happen.

Hes asking HBO for a purse bid on Kovalev vs Adonis to see which network they fight in (hes probably only doing that because HBO budget sucks right now). Hes already planning Thurman vs Garcia on CBS or Showtime, and hes planning Deontay vs Joshua for next Fall (Joshua fights Parker early next year).
