just curious because bjj black belts tended to have started when they were really young. However there definetly is a good amount of them who started over 20 which is when people normally start

Started at 30.
Got my bb at 40.
I am 43 and 1 degree bb.

Started at 31. Turning 37 in a couple of days and currently a purple belt.

Started no-gi at 28. But only just started gi BJJ this year, at 32, so I'm still a white belt.

Started 14 months ago. I'm 53.

Goal is to get to purple. After that, we'll see.

I started at 15. I am now a brown belt; hopefully it wont be too long until I can say I am a judo and bjj black belt...

34, currently 36 and a 2 stripe blue belt

Like 25, currently a blue belt. It was a good age to start, cuz I def wasn't mature enough to commit to it as a teenager

Started at 35. I'm currently a 45-year-old purple belt.

Started at 30, now 38. I've had to take, cumulatively, about three and a half years off for injuries. Currently brown.
