What about TJ vs Formiga at 125 for the next shot?

Pretty sure the last thing the UFC wants is a current champ dropping down a weight class and possibly losing to a guy 0% of casuals and 25% of hardcores have heard of.
Well luckily he would be dropping down to face Formiga, a face, name and fighter that actual mma fans and those who follow combat sports, know of. And casuals have heard of.

Funny how people say no because it would hold up 135, yet what do you think happens if TJ beats DJ.. and then holds up 125 and 135? Luckily imo, TJ gets beat by DJ, Cejudo, Formiga and a few others at 125.

Like Rivera, the most deserving contender the division has seen since Barao.

He's beat nobody. That's why he was scheduled to fight Cruz, to earn a #1 contender spot.

But okay, lets say Rivera.

What other contenders?

TJ is intent on fighting DJ but he'll need to get use to fighting at 125. Formiga can serve as a good warm up fight. If Formiga pulls off the upset it would be great for his career too.

Of course this fight would need to be made when there is no clear contender at 135. Like right now.

Thoughts?

This is probably the worst matchup ever. No offense... Just isn't marketable or sensible in the slightest.

Now T.J. Vs. Benavidez (Where TF is he anyway?)...

Who is Formiga?

If serious... He's had like 10 fights in the UFC.

He's not a contender? You probably think everyone who's not the champ sucks right?

No, just everyone who fights at 125lbs. The champ won't even fight real men.

Joe B left with TJ from TAM, along with Castillo, Palmer and a couple others who aren't as known. Danny came back after a few weeks, Lance came back after his first fight in Colorado he lost his belt, Joe B left but showed class plus respect in how he did it and still to this day is friends with many TAM members and still hangs with the boyz, even though he and TJ train together still. He was recovering from knee issues, but is back to training with Cub, Pico, TJ, etc etc.. and others in Vegas, in So Cal, in New Mexico and in Colorado.

2 fights hold up a division longer than one does. ........

Not if the one fight has the potential winner from a heavier weight class staying at the lower weight class instead of defending in the higher weight class first. Which if TJ beats DJ, it's easy to see the possibility that DJ vs TJ 2, would get put together first, before TJ going back to 135.
