Western media outlets articles about elite muay thai fighters

he was kidding since all the people in the yt comments were complaining about that decision because pongsiri was backing up a lot after he knocked him down but in reality pongsiri clearly won

lol I took it dead serious.

I didn't recal that Pongsiri actually scored a knockdown. in that case it would have to end any posibility of controversy.

They only get a reduced sentence usually when they have won a couple of tournaments or a string of pro fights in a row usually held at the prison. Amnat Ruenroeng got his sentence reduced and got out early from this program. They also had a woman that fights under the name Samson Sor Siriporn who won the wbc light flyweight world title from a fight held in the prison and she was granted her release for winning

I'm aware of the programme and how it works, and I can somehow see why they'd do such a thing. However when you look at it bluntly you're making people possibly more dangerous in terms of being able to hurt people and releasing them early.

I know potentially this programme should tame them, teach them discipline and something to stick to, but it's still kind of scary to know that some criminals are being trained to become better fighters before being released earlier than planned.

most of the people they let out with this program are mostly locked up for non-violent drug "crimes". In my mind they should not be locked up in the first place so i have no problem with them letting "criminals" attempt to better their life

Don't people get locked up in Thailand for petty shit like cannabis pocession?

that's merely because there are more nonviolent drug offenders in prison in the first place. You're insinuating that the program screens out violent offenders, but that isnt the case.
