Weidman the first undefeated fighter Anderson has faced

Anderson better win this. Jones Andy NYE MSG needs to happen.

Do you think this will be a factor at all? Most undefeated fighters are full of confidence, but sometimes their overconfidence brings them their first loss. I understand Weidman has never faced anyone close to Andersons caliber, but I dont think he is overconfident. I believe he is completely aware of the dangers Silva brings and will fight a smart fight. Hopefully it is good!
No, it will not be a factor in the fight, and Weidman is actually not the first undefeated fighter Anderson has fought. Sakurai was undefeated and considered to be #1 P4P by many when he lost to Anderson.

I love that a week ago before the fight was announced tons of people said Chris would smash Anderson. Now that the fight is on, these guys are no where to be found.

I'm starting to get tired of this bullshit.

There are plenty people backing Weidman and i haven't wavered... check my post history, consistent.

Just because the majority thinks the greatest fighter who ever lived will win, doesn't mean Weidman is a hype machine that eveyone bailed on.

I expect a million apologies when Weidman wins, but sadly you all will cower and hide.

There are only 2 sure things about Anderson Silva's UFC Fights.

1. He is going to win.

2. At least a minute of some highlight reel, ninja shit.

I really don't get it why is Weidman so special? What are his best wins... Munoz, Maia?

I am actually a Weidman fan as I see alot of potential in his abilities but with the lack of experience and coming of an injury I think fighting Anderson, who is arguably the greatest fighter ever, is going to ve to much for him. I wish Weidman would have had a couple more fights against high level guys before facing Silva.

Another notch for Weidman. :icon_chee j/k Rumor Weidman will stay and wait on the cage on the opposite side of the octagon if Spider waits on the cage. OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH

Leben was 15-1 when he fought Silva, didn't seem to do him any favors.

And that he's beaten every guy put in front of him?

By the way, who has Anderson beaten in his reign that's so much more impressive? Sonnen is the easy answer, but Maia handled him (keep in mind styles make fights, Weidman would have a huge edge). How good was Rich really?

Stephan Bonnar, Patrick Cote, and Thales Leites?

Because you're uneducated, you know nothing, you should probably be barred from discussing anything related to Weidman.

To most fans, he's just a guy who elbowed a 'fat Munoz' but in reality he's much more.

Defeated two of the top Light Heavyweight's in college wrestling and no, Anderson is not on the same level as Bader and Davis when it comes to wrestling.

And not only that but Weidman impressed many four years ago at ADCC with a year of formal ju-jitsu training, Weidman is very good on the ground and Silva will not have the advantage he had against Sonnen he is in real danger of losing a decision or even being submitted here.

But alas, so many people are simply uninformed and uneducated when it comes to Chris Weidman it just amuses me when I see people say "What's he done? Elbow Munoz?" No, Weidman is so much more than a guy who 'elbowed a fat Munoz'

Does he beat Anderson? Who knows, but all of these people who are counting him out, you may wind up with egg on your face, he's the biggest threat to Anderson's throne.

None of those accolades mean shit in MMA.

Of course they don't...

I guess Daniel Cormier's accomplishments in Olympic Wrestling mean nothing either.

Edit - I guess his accomplishments don't but because Weidman is fighting your favorite fighter his don't, just another trash poster on Sherdog.

Overeem was a K-1 champ. Knocked out by a ground specialist.

Hendo was an olympian and has been outwrestled quite a few times.

Overeem the 'K-1 Champion' won the weakest K1 GP in years and had his hands down when he got knocked out, Overeem keeps his hands up he wins that fight hands down.

Henderson gets out-wrestled when he gasses.

Weidman is a 29 year old in the prime of his career with some real skills to pose a threat to Anderson.

Chris will smash Anderson.

Im sure this point has been made, cant be bothered to look through the whole thread. But Weidman is the least experience fighter Anderson has fought in the UFC by some distance. When you add to the fact that it will be one year since he fought and coming of a serious injury. The odds are stacked against him. He should have been patient like GSP and waited out Silva as he's not getting younger exactly
