losing 3 (or 4) in a row is a slow start toward reclaiming the belt though....
still my boy
As soon as Mousasi, Yoel, Rockhold, whitaker and possibly Bisping retire he will be.
USADA says no
I cant ever see him beating Rockhold.
Once you lose the belt, odds are you never get it back.
It's happened, but right now, it's very very unlikely.
Will never fight for title again. He owes Anderson a huge thank you cuz Anderson would of won their first fight if he wasnt clowning around. Weidman had already slowed down considerably
He'll be champ by this time next year and you can take that to the bank
I don't want to say that he was doping. But in the Machida fight, and here especially, Weidman looks so much larger than he does now. Is anyone else seeing this?
I seem to remember reading that after his last stint on the sidelines because of his knees he stopped lifting weights heavy. This could be a reason for his lack of thickness. The dude has always had shit knees even before MMA.
Pisses me off that he and Cain are glass built.
Although USADA could be a major factor.
he was beating Yoel easily before the one beautiful knee, so its hard to say he loses a rematch for sure.
Mousasi was pretty even before the questionable/controversial shit happened.
He was much larger pre USADA, he discusses this and says he now stays closer to his fighting weight between fights to make the cut easier. This sounds logical.....the problem is he now is lighter and weaker in the ring. It does not look good when you decide to fight 20 lbs lighter immediately after USADA testing begins.
I had him and Yoel 1-1. I also had Moose on the way up before the stoppage. He gasses to easy and likes to rely on his striking. He has decent striking but as he gets tired his defense gets exposed quickly.
It aint like that wasnt a competitive fight till spinny shit.
