GGG looked slow and weak out there. He won but BARELY won. Wouldve KO'd Jacobs a year or 2 ago.

GGG is 35.

Floyd is 40 (41 when he fight Cloner)

Age means more in boxing than it does in MMA. In MMA, you have guys like Yolo and Manuwa at 37 dominating. P4P GOATS like Chocolito are losing at 30+

so? Put Conor up against Roger or Floyd Sr instead and he'd still lose.

Rigo is also 35 and not only that but also fights in a division where age really matters and look, everyone is ducking him

GGG just fought his best opponent to date

Also, are you trying to say Conor has the same chances as Jacobs today because age? One is one of the best MW of the world, 2nd best, the other is an amateur, at best

I love Conor, but pbf could outbox him with one arm tied behind his back. He could clown him with footwork alone.

Edit: in boxing. Kickboxing might be a different story.

Jacobs is the next best guy in the division and a slick boxer puncher. Mcgregor has never been in a pro boxing fight and is fighting one of the greatest boxers of all time. This is apples and oranges

I keep reading that GGG's opponent had a 15-20 lb. weight advantage over him.

I bet that was more of a factor than anything else.

A 15-20 lb. weight advantage is HUGE in MMA- in boxing it's even more significant since it's a harder sport.

We've seen many great boxers succeed into their late 30s
(Juan Manual Marquez, Floyd Mayweather jr., Manny Pacquiao, Bernard Hopkins...).

We've also seen great MMA fighters struggle in their primes
(Jon Jones, Demetrius Johnson, GSP...)

Age affects both sports. There's no difference.

Nope... the man had a plan come in at around 185 lbs, play it smart and out point him in enough rounds to score the upset but say F you to the belts.

GGG was 170 lbs and still tried his usual I will KO you in 6 or so rounds were he should have recognize the danger and play the points game better to win it more relaxed and not so close.

Either way he got the win even with his all in style and it was a good experience.

Oh and he was thinking the extra size is for an early all in strategy but it wasn't he came to box to a decision.. that's why GGG was a bit defensive in the first 2 rounds.

PS: Chocolito should have won that fight imo.

daniel jacobs was by far ggg's best opponent.

age affects guys that arent on roids (or are on less roids). it doesnt affect science projects like the cuban olympians, because they are from scumbag commie countries with designer steroids gotten from russia's olympic doping program.

and Conor wont have that weight advantage if he fought Floyd?

Mayweather and GGG are nowhere near the same style of boxers age is going to effect Boxers like GGG alot more then a defensive minded fighter like Floyd.

Agree about the weight in boxing, that boxing is a harder sport, I'm not so sure, inspite of that ESPN study and ranking.

At 35 Mayweather was beating prime Canelo at 22-23. So its not so much age as it is mileage. Mayweather can still move and own Connor. I say this as a Connor fan. Hes great in MMA. But boxing? Lolz.

This.

In terms of conditioning and the amount of damage (he's not taken) he's closer to 30. Conor won't land a single clean shot.
