Learned a lot about Douglas. Talented fighter that had 1 great night.

It was a very one sided fight. Buster whooped Mikes Ass.

Who do you guys think Wins Tyson-Holyfield if it happened in 1991?

88 Tyson would beat the shit out of the best Holyfield you could find.

It's amazing how Tyson's prime was only from 1988. Shortest prime ever. In 1991 He was 24 years old it's crazy how someone could drop off that far at that age.

eh, his head got too big. He actally looked pretty good right after that one against Alex Stewart, who gave Foreman all he could handle.

Only due to him losing focus and not training as hard as previously.
He could've been the same fighter but mentally wasn't there anymore.

Sat there drinking beer with a buddy in our apartment, and watching that unfold is a night we still crack up about. After a while, we were pulling for Buster, so we were on our feet for the last few rounds. Maybe the last several rounds. What a fight.

Did they mention that Tyson was going on benders and whoring before that match like he claimed?

Alex was shitting his pants as the fight was getting ready to start, though, then took a heavy right hand high on the head within five seconds and was knocked down two seconds later. Tyson looked good, yes, but it was a mauling where a scared to death Stewart took heavy shots early and never even got close to getting into the fight. So I wouldn't put too all that much into it. Sure, one could argue that Stewart got run over because Tyson was simply that good, but things are probably a little bit more nuanced than that.

I'd agree that Tyson wasn't necessarily out of his prime at that point, though. He had one utterly lousy performance against a fired up Douglas that clearly rose to the occasion, but it wasn't until he got out of prison that he looked like a truly diminished version of himself.
