The Washington Post, or as Americans refer to it "The WP Blog" has corrected yet another article in which it said that Russian hackers had infiltrated the US power grid at a Vermont utility. The newspaper now says authorities have no such "indications" as people on social media claim the outlet promotes "fake news."

On Friday, Burlington Electric, a Vermont-based power company, raised an alarm after finding malware code on a company laptop. Referring to "undisclosed officials", the Washington Post then ran a damning headline, saying that "Russian operation hacked a Vermont utility" which posed a risk "to US electrical grid security."

Yet it turns out that the laptop that was penetrated wasn't even attached to the power network, according to a statement from Burlington Electric. "We detected suspicious internet traffic in a single Burlington Electric Department computer not connected to our organization's grid systems," the message reads.

No evidence of a Russian trace has been released either. Eventually, the Washington Post issued a correction to its article. "An earlier version of this story incorrectly said that Russian hackers had penetrated the US electric grid. Authorities say there is no indication of that so far," the statement said. The headline, blatantly accusing "Russian hackers" of breaching the US power grid, remains, though.

Since the headline is what the vast majority of readers will see, and not the correction, it's clear the Washington Post is blatantly spreading false anti-Russian propaganda to its readers, without any concern whether their claims are true not.

What do you expect. The evidence that someone hacked the election speaks Russian made the entire government put sanctions on Russia. Do they even realize people speak Russian that arent Russians?

Wapo does good work, even though they are clearly bias. They hold themselves accountable, as the edit shows. Wapo also doesn't bend as much to the mob mentality of MSM critics as do other publications.

So a publication goes after your man? So what? Breitbart is really bad, but there's no point in waging war against them when you could be focusing your energies on the issues themselves.

This is more than Bias, WaPo for years have been putting out false information that people have run with as fact because "Well they are the Washington Post" only to have to immediately come right back out to retract everything that they have written when the damage was already done.

Um Trump is the epitome of this.

Worker was minding his own business, aka searching for "Russian lesbian porn".

Can't blame him...

Her?

Trump has nothing to do with this article or WaPo. Now you are deflecting.

No I'm not. I just thought it was maddeningly ironic that you felt so strongly about putting out misleading information considering you and your ilk have been fist pumping about Trump since November.

About WaPo, I can see your irritations. They piss me off, too. But they still do good work, and are more legit that other outlets. And I still think calling them fake news is silly.

Washington post is as shitty as new york post, just cuz it's a big city paper, dont mean its good journalism, pretty much a rag mag

The only reason this VT grid story was released was to give credibility to Obama's sanctions. He looks like an unhinged tool after Russia declined to retaliate.

Mainstream media is going the way of the dodo, in the same sense that the cd industry and Blockbuster have.

Millions and millions were pumped into them so that public opinion could be swayed (and Grandma Isis elected), and they failed.

Then you have to consider the fact that advertising space in these papers and equivalent tv stations is a money sink. You wont get a return on those commercials, it's a near obsolete advertising channel. Trump knew this for a long time.
