-sent out into deep space PRE HERESY into the deep void prob by corax (seem to be raven sucessors) to find and destroy enemies
-liberian may be much older than bjorn of the space wolves!!!!
-they seem to have recently been in combat with nids and have lots of cool old tech
-come out of deep space for what they call grey tithe( stock up on ammo etc) and the darker red tithe (grab people to be recruits for marines or if they suck as serfs , press ganged ship crew or servitors etc ...recent one cost them 50 marines which they felt was acceptable losses !
-cool polenesian island culture hints (the emperor is called void father)

-shark style tactics use speed and or stealth to hit weak spots...withdraw if resistance strong and try somewhere else..like a shark circling its prey wearing them down
and unnerve other imperium forces by locking their vox networks ...therefore allies working alongside see them slaughter but in utter silence!

Red Tithe was pretty good for a warhammer book. I like how the writer decided to pit a mysterious loyalist chapter who share the same visual apperance (almost) as the Night Lords against eachother and the traitors never heard of the Space Sharks aswell.

I know the DW do a little bit of R&D but that might be because the inqusition can force the mechanicums hand.
iron hands well, lets think about that, they have close ties with the tech priest, not a overal shock

I like the existing lore on sharks too
- staying perfectly still in position while enemies charge them to allow space borne lance weapon to fry enemies
-them only speaking in high gothic

they are silent killers, never prone to taunt or give in to provocations, they just get the job done

Space Marines are genetically enhanced humans. Also there is basic humans faction - astra militarum aka imperial guard.
