Those prequel flicks are legitimately P4P some of the worst movies ever made.

Anakins acting is atrocious. And the Padme angle is so fucking BORING.

Other than the Emperor guy's decent performance(still run of the mill though), there is absolutely NOTHING good about them. They are so incredibly bad, and it somewhat bothers me that people have taken these average new endeavors to hold up to comparison, to make them not seem as bad.

I don't care how much you loathed TLJ(and it was bad), it's a 10/10 compared to those shit heap prequels.

What is it you don't understand? I don't actually think Christopher Nolan was the godfather of the alt right.

Yeah obviously I didn't take it that way and understood what you were clearly saying. But I don't think the Joker fits the bill. There have been socialist critiques against the Batman ethos (a morally myopic billionaire circumventing due process to beat on poor people) that I think are more convincing. As far as Ledger's Joker goes (which I think was a well-written and masterfully portrayed character), I think his madness is more Hobbesian and egoistic than remotely alt-right. Sure, alt-righters are cynical as well, but their cynicism isn't grounded in any knowledge of society or self, but rather from insecurity and huge deficits in self-awareness.

Also, dude gets commie cred here:

Good God, if you really want to break it down, The Joker is so far left it's not even funny. What the hell are you talking about @Fawlty?

Well, at least you're not making me look up Calvin.

I'm talking about the disposition toward society and institutions, and obviously don't mean it literally, or to a centuries-old philosophical underpinnings kind of analysis. These people really do want to watch it all burn. It's not too different from the Fight Club male insecurity nihilism and the subversion of objective reality, with a lot of "I'm hopelessly fucked up and don't belong so I want to break everything, or shoot up a school, or plow my car into people." I don't think there's anything subtle about Ledger's Joker at all. There's more than just cynicism in common there anyhow.

This just came on the TV. One of my favorite lines from a tv show.

Cannibal corpse is coming here in February. Keep forgetting to grab some tickets. Need to get on that
Oh yeah, they're going to be playing too! That's a crazy lineup of bands. I got floor tickets, not sure if I'll regret those or not. Feels necessary for a metal show but I got a job, can't afford to get caught in a mosh anymore.

Which is so not right wing. That's your interpretation of right wing ideology, based on your emotions. The Joker is an anarchist. Not some guy who doesn't like how a certain system works.

You're embarrassing yourself. Get a clue.

I think there's a good case to be made either way with regard to the Joker. Bane, on the other hand, is definitely a left-wing villain.

I've lived to see it all. The joker is now a right wing antagonist. What in the flying fuck.

And Snoke? He doesn't notice or realize the light saber? Yeah ok. Also, why kill him off so early and easily? What a fuckin waste

They really should've started it out the way they did the marvel launch. Make a bunch of movies with separate characters in the universe and then make a Star Wars 7 that had enough backstory to it and a sense of direction. Instead they just slammed the pedal into the first movie (probably without a direction of the whole trilogy) and spent the second movie trying to make up for it. Now we have the third movie with bad questions left like wtf is it going to be about? The series is garbage now but I consider it a national community thing to see them when they come out.

By all means, make the case that The Joker is a right winger. I challenge you.

I'd rather not since I'm not of that opinion. But I think Fawlty is right that his disposition does seem to reflect a self-involved cynicism and nihilism that seems rampant in the alt-right.

pisses me off he pronounces it Prim-us and not Primus like the band

Like I said, emotional nonsense.

You don't always have to stick up for your boys, Trots. He's wrong. You know it.

I think it should be a forum rule that you have to wait at least an hour before making a "still waiting for" post.

Given that you dick tucked, I'd say it was safe to post.

It's fucked. I always feel compelled to see them, and why? For over a decade now it's been shit.
