I think you read too much Tom Clancy
Trump tells very sensitive secret to hostile foreign actor.
Hostile foreign actor compromises the secret and burns an asset hard as fuck.
OMG the leakerz!!!!
Dots, they'z not bein' konnected right.
Agree on the outrage culture 24/7 news cycle etc.
Also, we don't really know what went down here. I would be worried about the incompetence if he in fact screwed up like this.
If we assume for a second the report is correct. And he sort of bragged about it and just gave it away by accident while talking to the Russian from all people.
That would be concerning. Just the level of incompetence here with all the Russia stuff involved already.
A lot of the rest is outrage culture. Which Trump himself needs so he is not exactly innocent.
I am just worried about the incompetence.
Well then no. But who is alleging that? Certainly not Israel nor anybody who was present at the meeting. Where is the indication that Trump shared something he shouldn't have even coming from?
But thats not what happened, right?
They said this in the original story but the left was too busy stirring up hysteria
That's a bit of a strawman, because the real concern (just like the Comey firing) is not the legality, but the impropriety.
And the NSA director told you straight up nothing happened, so this isn't about legality or impropriety, it's about leaking information to make Trump look bad.
Don't forget an israeli spy deep in isis was either outed or probably killed because of the reveal.
Meaning we just lost 1 very important resource (the spy) and the damaged our relationships with most of our allies just so trump could jerk the russians off in the white house.
Trump probably also gave the russians free bjs. Seriously putin has to own his ass. No one unless they are a whore owned by a pimp degrades themselves in public like this.
yep leaked info to one of the members of an aviation security agreement with the US government. How dare the POTUS (within his powers and rights) help someone help us out. Old putin even came out and smugly said they already had that info, you, and every leftist and the MSM must be naive to not think the KGB et all don't have their own agents getting info around the globe.
The Russia hate and saber rattling ad nauseum is exhausting. Even Obama decided to sanction a few Russian businesses, while leaving tons of legal loopholes, and then go into leaking or wanting to leak info himself to them. This mcCarthy era crap is old and tired. We have been sharing info with russia since the Clinton administration
McMaster's job in that scenario is to always always smooth things over, because that's congruent with our immediate national security interests. I'm not even knocking him for doing his job (he seems very competent and trustworthy), it's just not an instance where we can believe his word to be true. He would have said essentially the same thing regardless of what actually happened, don't you agree?
Agreed. Also, my pet theory is that McMasters is the leaker.
Seriously, i've heard this excuse since Trump started sucking Russia's cock. As if he actually stopped a world war from happening by suckling on putin's teet.
These same people use to bash Russia constantly, but suddenly when trump cuddles up to them "Russia is alpha bro! And he stopped WW3 man!"
I think that would be the smartest thing to do. Russia is telling Assad (that's also the necessary assumption in any case, but in this case, it's a foregone conclusion), and giving Russia control of whether & when it leaks publicly is simply unacceptable. You have to make it known information.
Banned in 3 posts lol what happened here
So who in the meeting leaked it?
Who in Trumps inner circle is privy to high level secrets but also trying to being him down?
Some people just love to bitch.
It's a feminine trait.
If this were Obama, they would have his head on a pike and be feasting on his body by now.
Since it's Chester, he gets the spoiled-child treatment he's received his whole life
You people defending Trump really don't seem like true Americans in any sense of the word..
