This whole jones thing is obviously bs.
We had a situation in Australia recently where ASADA tried to prosecute an entire team that were injected with peds. The investigation came up short but then the world anti doping agency came in over the top at CAS and banned every player for 12 months.

Back in 2016 EFC (random south african mma organisation) champ Demarte Pena tested positive for testosterone and anabolic use in testing conducted at an event by SAIDS (South African Institute for Drug Free Sport), a WADA signatory.
It went to hearing and at arbitration the panel found in favor of Pena and cleared him of all charges. The panel determined that his supplements had been contaminated, and he was at no fault at all. But it wasnt that simple. SAIDS tested a number of supplements from the athlete. Two of the supplement containers had already been opened, and one of them was still sealed.
The two opened ones were contaminated with anabolic steroids, although, not in quantities that would have resulted in his positive test. the sealed container, interestingly was not contaminated in any way.
It was fairly obvious that he had self contaminated the two opened ones to try and get off.
SAIDS did a shit job of arguing their case, the panel was incompetant, and between them it was decided that Pena was not at fault.
WADA appealed to the court of arbitration for sport.
CAS found in WADA's favour and Pena has now been suspended for 4 years.
UFC isn't under WADA jurisdiction IIRC
The same could be said for Pena case. What jurisdiction do WADA have over some random South African MMA organisation? the answer is none. But they do have jurisdiction over South African Anti Doping.
This is fairly similar to the JJ case, in regard to the reasoning for the short suspension (unintentional, small doze). Add to that that JJ isn't a first-time offender.
but thats not why Jones punishment was reduced. the 30 month reduction was for "substantial assistance". Only 3 months was taken off for degree of fault.
