Voting is a scam to get the people to believe they are the ones in charge.

I don't vote and probably never will, it's pointless.I find it funny when people say I have no right to an opinion on politics because I don't vote. It's all set up to appease the people into thinking they are the ones in control. The truth is your vote doesn't matter.

The electoral college was set up so that if the powers that be decided who the people voted for wasn't fit they could simple choose the other guy. Most people don't even realize why the E.C was put in place!

Why would anyone participate in a system where votes aren't even equal? One persons vote counts more based on where they are standing when they cast it...how fucking silly is that shit?

The truth is it really doesn't matter who you vote for you will never change the outcome.

lol

the electoral college ensures that california, texas, and ny arent the only states that matter. it also helps prevent sectionalism.

remember when rick perry was the "establishment's choice" in 2012, and your kind was saying "why vote....the shadowy figures have chosen." then he said something stupid on tv. voters turned on him.

people probably do think their vote matters more than it does, but equally idiotic are the fools who think its all just a shell game and stay home.

1. The system of control you claim was put into place wasn't ever used the way some of the Founder's envisioned it being used. It wasn't fucked from day one. It functioned quite well from day one. and in a manner very different than you are describing.

The founders created a system that very much protected class structure within politics.

The people elected to Congress are not demographically representative of the nation, nor ever have been. Who really were "We the people"? If you are a woman, you weren't considered a person at the time.

Women are 52 percent of our population now but less than 7 percent of the Congress. African Americans are some 14 percent of the population but have less than 5 percent of the legislative seats. Occupational backgrounds are heavily skewed in an upper-class direction. Although they are only a small fraction of the population, lawyers (many of them corporate attorneys) compose about 50 percent in both houses. Bankers, investors, entrepreneurs, and business executives compose the next largest group. There are almost no blue-collar persons or other ordinary working people in Congress since the major campaign weapon is money.

Business interests outspend labor by more than five to one. Coming from corporations, trade associations, and rich individuals, most campaign money finds its way into the coffers of the more conservative of the two capitalist parties. Furthermore, poltical action committees and big business donors have always hedged their bets by donating to both parties to ensure allegiance no matter who is elected. Members of Congress go where the money is, scrambling for congressional committee assignments that deal with issues of greatest interest to big donors.

So it doesn't matter what "party" you belong to, interest will always skew towards the same demographic that put it all in place - aristocrats.

TY for not voting

Understanding the electoral college would be included on the much-needed "Do you know enough about politics to vote?" qualification exam

No it actually doesn't...but you are to ducking stupid and brain washed to understand that.

its always unfortunate when youre insulting someone's intelligence while spelling words incorrectly....and im not talking about "ducking."

none of that means that youre wrong about me being stupid, but it just removes some of your credibility.

You're right. The presidency should be decided by glorified mayoral campaigns in LA and NYC. THAT would stop the illuminati in their tracks!

You think I "misspelled" Fucking with a D? You are an idiot.

err. alright. you misspelled "too." and why did you put misspelled in quotes?

anyway, back to your thread about being smarter than everyone who votes. are you 17?

The founders created a system that very much protected class structure within politics.

True.
If you are a woman, you weren't considered a person at the time.

Untrue. You weren't allowed to vote until the early twentieth century. But in most other respects, legally and socially, of course women were people.

Women are 52 percent of our population now but less than 7 percent of the Congress. African Americans are some 14 percent of the population but have less than 5 percent of the legislative seats.

In the 115th Congress, there are 46 blacks in the House of Representatives and 3 in the Senate. That is just over 9%. There are 83 women in the House and 21 in the Senate, that's just under 20%.

I'd also mention that the assumption that Congress would look like the nation at large demographically is a strange one. Why would a woman feel a woman would better represent her? There's a lot of men who would feel better represented by Hillary than by Trump, no?

Occupational backgrounds are heavily skewed in an upper-class direction. Although they are only a small fraction of the population, lawyers (many of them corporate attorneys) compose about 50 percent in both houses. Bankers, investors, entrepreneurs, and business executives compose the next largest group. There are almost no blue-collar persons or other ordinary working people in Congress since the major campaign weapon is money.

The reasons for this are obvious. It isn't because the system is rigged, it's because most people don't want the their plumber representing them in Congress. They'd much rather be represented by the lawyer. It's the same reasoning that pushes them to hire a lawyer to represent them in court instead of their plumber. It is entirely reasonable that blue collar people would choose candidates they feel are appropriately educated for the job. Now we can discuss why that assumption may be false or counterproductive, but it doesn't delegitimize the representation people choose.

Democracies have always been plutocracies. In fact, plutocracies usually evolve into democracies. That is good, though it has it's faults. It's an extremely stable system in which the average person has a lot of freedom to live as they choose.

The Montana elites are trying to give influence to voters in poor sparsely populated counties and the SHEEPLE are falling for it

We need our elections decided 100% in New York where there are no ELITES* or SHEEPLE

*Except for Trump the LITERAL NAZI

There is a paradox in American voting; people don't turn out to vote because they believe their vote doesn't count. Their vote doesn't count because as a whole, the disenfranchised don't show up to vote or don't coalesce behind alternative candidates.

In a Presidential election we get 50% turnout maybe. It's horrible. We really could elect whoever we want, but we don't. The EC has little to do with it. Combine the above paradox with the fact that as a culture we are as readily manipulated as a brainless marionette by corporatists, and you can see the truth that our Republic is a joke.

same as everywhere.... well except North Korea, they have a 100% voter turnout. We could learn somethings

I've been duped into being vested with power in exchange for nothing.

Dagnabbit! Hoodwinked again!! I bet the liberals put the "fake news" up to this.

Thanks to the evil russian hackers we know why that happened though. The DNC basically pre-selected her and the resistence was stamped out via party loyalty.

Luckily Republicans and Democrats mostly hate each other so the general elections may be authentic. Keep that hate healthy.

2. Calling people sheep is a huge red flag for the kind of guy who learns his politics watching Youtube vids in the basement drinking warm beers he pilfered from his dad and smoking some low quality weed. That may not be your actual situation, but it is certainly how you are portraying yourself.
Agreed largely but youtube vids re just like weed; you got the good shit and the stemmy, wet, seedy shit. But give me home grown shit over the CNN, Fox, MSNBC, ABC, etc that openly sprinkles big pharma anti psychotics on their weed to control your mind.

What is whacky tho is the DNC, even many RNC globalists, are trying to equate those that exposed the Hillary fraud with simple math as being "Putin puppets" while offering no evidence. There was loads of evidence that the primary was rigged but not one peep from MSM, yet all they can talk about is how Russia/Trump hacked the election with no evidence. And for all those that are informed as to what happened, there are still many that dont have a clue.

The same cluster of leaks that showed the primary was basically scripted also named and shamed journalists at CNN, MSNBC, Politico, etc.

We were basically depending on the people who got caught red-handed to voluntarily report their own infidelity to us and spank themselves.

Not gonna happen. Their reaction consisted of two basic strategies:
-Depict the leakers as the real criminals and themselves as the victims
-Depict rogue media outlets such as Breitbart and Wikileaks that continued to discuss the contents of the leaks as Putin puppets and secret white supremacists.

Our democracy is still real/functional but it's incredibly fragile. We depend on people like these evil hackers.
