Probably because the lead singer of that band wrote tons of material for many artists.

He's made a lot of money for a lot of people.

yeah I forgot his name but I remember that and this was like his only LP at the time

Meh. This song encapsulates the 90's much better imo.

who voted? like who is calling it the best song of the 90's? a website?

Best? Not sure, but it was really catchy.

What about Jeremy by Pearl Jam?

I like that song, but meh, not the pick. This is a much better example:

or this...

or this (no matter how much it may make some cringe-- you could go with "Ants Marching" if you don't favor a ballad)...

or this...

or this on the guilty pleasure side...

*Edit* Or, oh Jesus, can't believe I forgot about this:

which of course immediately makes me think of this...

and this...

I like any of these more than the New Radicals pick.

The 90s are far to broad and diverse to pick one song as "the best of the 90s". But then to do it and pick the New Radicals? WTF!?

Best? Only one song goat enough for that.
yeah your song is shit

I like the songs here except for the Korn post. I'd also nominate this as pretty 90's and a good song:

I'm no fan of GnR or Metallica.... but November Rain and Enter Sandman getting topped by this? And these are only from 91.

I'm sick of "smells like teen spirit"
But you can't deny it's the greatest song of the 90s
