Video: Chael "will Eddie Alvarez sign with UFC again?"

He had one shot against Conor and he completely blew it. Didn't get his manager to update his contract because he thought he'd win and then start to make big money, then he not only lost but also turned himself into complete laughing stock.

Historical revisionism is the name of the game in MMA, and when they review Eddie's career, none of his achievements in Bodog, Dream, Bellator and the UFC will matter. All the majority will remember is how pathetic he looked against Conor after calling him the easiest fight at LW.

Overall his run in the UFC has been uninspiring to say the least. First he disgraced the Sapp-Alvarez scale by turning himself into a boring ass wrestler, then he got clowned on red panties night, then he played dirty twice against Poirier, the first time it got ruled an NC, the second time he got penalized and then KTFO. He was making less money post Conor than he did near the end of his Bellator tenure, and that's not including sponsorship. He ain't staying in the UFC.
And he made ~ 4 M $ in UFC, not including sponsors.

He's always seems like an entitled diva from the very beginning. Good fighter, but not as good as he thinks he is.

Who the hell cares what Chael says?

Eddie has one of the best records at lightweight with wins over:

Joachim Hansen ( former shooto and dream champ )
Kawajiri in his prime ( former shooto champ and one of the best Japanese lightweights ever )
Pat Curran ( former two time Bellator fw champ and lw tournament winner )
Aoki ( former shooto, dream and one FC champ )
Patricky Freire
Michael Chandler ( two time Bellator lw champ )
Gilbert Melendez ( former two time Strikeforce champ )
Anthony Pettis ( last WEC lw champ and former ufc lw champ )
Dos Anjos ( former ufc lw champ )
Justin Gaethje ( former WSOF champ )

Mix this in with the fact that Eddie is one of the more entertaining fighters in mma and then i think he has earned the right to act like an entitled diva sometimes.

I hope he returns to Bellator for 1 final run provided Chandler stays over at Bellator. i desperately want to see that rubber match.

We don't know but we can say it was at least 1$/per ppv buy. So even with you link you can say he made at least ~ 3 M$.

Yes, but that's besides the point, he's not making anywhere near that kind of money anymore, because he got clowned by Conor and lost his belt, and while we don't know if he could have beaten Conor even at his best, the fact remains he took Conor's striking lightly, convinced himself it was the easiest matchup at LW, fought like a complete retard, and missed out on millions more in pay.

It wasn't just Eddie either, if you heard the way Mark Henry talk about Conor's power post fight, you'd think he belonged to a cult that worshiped Conor's left hand. His entire team had no fucking clue what they were dealing with. It was pathetic.

UFC should sign Michael Chandler and make eddie vs chandler 3

Eddie Alvarez isn't echelon of this sport, he won 2 split decisions before fighting dehydrated RDA, they fought for title as main event of Fight Night...He is top guy, but not championship quality fighter.
He was lucky to fight Conor. He made very well in UFC, he is overachiever, money and belt. Lucky guy.

no reason to be in the ufc anymore. he was exposed and he is better suited in bellator, where chandler can get his revenge

Eddie is one of the most proven lightweights in the history of the sport. Aside from a handful of outliers, you can just about guarantee an Alvarez fight is going to be a thriller.

So you have a proven, on-weight, consummate professional who puts on wildly entertaining bouts and has good name recognition compared to his peers. Eddie brings a lot of value to the table.

The UFC is going to make him a solid offer.

FFS he won the title via first round knockout and exclusively fought the best. He's only lost to legitimate world class opponents.

didn't have the most impressive run in the ufc. between boring fights and one or 2 exciting ones, found a punch against RDA and that was it

Going 4-3-1 isn't being 'exposed' when you are fighting exclusively world class talent in a deep division.

There may be a few lightweights in the history of the sport who would have beaten Gilbert, Pettis and RDA in a row. You can't rewrite history, that is exactly what happened and at the time it was a substantial accomplishment.

Conor and Dustin are world class guys. No shame in those loses. You can't win literally every fight.

"Exposed" is a relative term. If someone who claims to be a billionaire turned out to be worth 100 million, he got exposed, even though he's still rich as fuck to us. If you thought Alvarez was elite by UFC standards like many did, then he clearly got exposed. He's UFC caliber yes, and he got lucky with a shot against RDA yes, but his overall UFC tenure screams run of the mill top 15 LW, that's it. He's nothing special.

Also, he didn't just lose a tough fight to McTapper, which would be understandable, he didn't get caught with a punch, which is also understandable. He got utterly outclassed the same way Dennis Siver did, which is fucking pathetic.

slight exaggeration. but he didn't do very well. he wall n stalled his way to the title, found a punch, got destroyed by mcgregor (as louis said, he claimed to be the easiest fight in the division, and he actually meant it), cheated against dustin, beat gaethje, then cheated against dustin again but this time he lost

he's WAY more valuable to bellator right now, especially since LW is one of if not the most stacked division in the ufc. he has minimal value to the ufc and I would be surprised if he sticks around. but if he sticks around it would be for peanuts
