Video: Chael "Kevin Lee training for UFC 229 without an opponent is a smart move"

The UFC should stop being cheapskates.....Just pay Kevin Lee to be ready to be a replacement...Pay him $50k-$100k....It's insurance and cheap as fuck to save a 2 million buys PPV card.

This should be standard practice for the UFC when they have huge fucking cards like these.....Idiots still don't learn after all the injury pullouts we seen.

Sad that Lee is doing this by himself without any UFC compensation.

Smart move... could payoff with the biggest fight of his career.

Lol Lee could totally finish Conor. Everyone talkin shit until Khabib pulls out and Lee steps into the breach. War MTP.

50-100K to be a backup? Does Kevin Lee even make that to fight?

Lee and Ferguson rematch so both are on standby would be ideal. I think a healthy Lee dominates him. We’ve seen how good his gas tank. Tony pushes an incredible pace, but he was certainly off his game that night.

Khabib will pull out.... CONOR SLEEPS EM BOTH

Lee could beat them both. bring it on. he's who should actually be fighting Khabib here.

Go to the gym for two months for a long shot at making a few million dollars? Yup, I'd call that a good decision.

It's 50/50....

It could very much pay off, and it could very much cost him....

If he goes through an actual camp for 2 months, and cuts weight? If he ends up with an opponent that will be fantastic.

If he doesn't get an opponent?

Going through another 1-2 month camp and cutting weight again could very well negatively impact his eventual performance. Training camp isn't cheap either, and not getting paid really screws you.

Ain't happening, UFC would be broke.

Fighters are starting to understand. It is a smart move.
