I've been competing against Brown and Black Belts for a couple years now in NoGi, but I Just had my first comp as a Brown belt myself; had a lot of fun, met a lot of really cool people, and i didn't totally crap the bed!

My trusty ol Kkmura really saved me, but lots to work on.

Great, congratulations. Some sweet setups, transitions and finishes!

I think biggest mistake some (incluiding advanced) grapplers make against the kimura, is that they underestimate it, both when executing it like it's just a stage for transitioning into something else, or when defending it, because, well, it's just a stage for transitioning into something else.

Who here hasn't thought "MEH", after your opponent gets the kimura grip? I know i used to... because when people apply it wrong, it's quite easy to defend/stall/escape. But now i know better and i know to fear it for it is the #1 submission fat people get me with.

Your kimura game is nice. I've just discovered the kimura grip. I still suck at it but you know it's a work in progress.

Lol thanks guys, I tried to use lots of eX0-Mechinacals etc.

But yeah, once you start using the figure Four as a form of 2-on-1 Shoulder control, it really opens up so much more than just "bend his arm behind his back". Just make sure y'all clamp your armpit right on the top of his clavicle and pinch your elbow down to your ribs; now you've got his arm and don't give it back!

    Biomechanics.

To be 100% honest...I don't even really know lol. It's for sure one of my best sweeps, but it's one I don't fully understand myself if that makes any sense. I gotta work on it in the gym and break down what I'm actually doing there.

Mm, I'm really bad at explaining moves in text...but, while standing in someone's open guard, I'll basically put my lead leg forward to bait them to try and either sit up and grab it for a single leg, or to go for DLR.
Meanwhile I'm already eyeing up their wrist for the figure four, and as soon as they reach for my leg I Backstep hard, basically hit them in the face with my side while locking up the figure 4,and flatten them out, usually into half guard.
Lemme know if that makes sense

    I made it myself =^_^=
