Such was the story at UFC Fight Night 125, where Valentina Shevchenko dominated opponent Priscila Cachoeira in a brutal victory which secured her position as the number one Flyweight division contender in the UFC. The world watched in awe as Valentina battered Cachoeira’s face with consecutive elbows in the first round and secured a fight-stopping rear-naked choke in the second. Amid the lightning storm of camera flashes, Valentina hardly bats an eye. She strikes a difficult pose and holds it strongly, as if she has done it a million times before. Defined arm muscles peek out from her blouse, juxtaposed against a sleek, feminine silhouette. When handed a gun, she receives it with great respect and holds it delicately and consciously, as if it is a living being with feelings of its own. Nicknamed “Bullet” by her coach, Valentina is not only an unstoppable force in the ever-expanding women’s division of the UFC, but an avid shooter who often shares her love of competitive and recreational shooting on social media.Without a doubt, Valentina’s undying love and respect for firearms is the result of a lifetime of good training and strong culture, values which are reflected in her every graceful movement
