Finally someone with the wisdom to prescribe leaving well enough alone. Further using Iran protests as a springboard for increased American-led aggression will only cause Iranians to rally around their flag and government, likely justifying another crackdown. Great Article. Suggest reading the whole thing.

Yes, but what I'll do is bring this thread back at the appropriate time, and make it a petition thread. Or, possibly make a new one. But, I'll wait until this unfolds more, so that people tell their Senators/Congressman at the appropriate time of maximum impact.

i know that. but the Afghan war made sense at least and had wide support from people. I am just wondering why he wait till 2003 of March to do war when you had congress elections in 2002 in fall. Do you think that was intentional?

Actually, the Afghanistan war didn't make sense.
The Taliban didn't attack the US on 9/11, or ever for that matter.
15 of the 19 hijackers were from Saudi Arabia.
The others were from Egypt, Lebanon, and UAE.
They were financed by the Saudis, too.

The American people were snowed into thinking that attack was legit because AQ had a base there and they were friends with the Taliban (because they worked together to defeat the Soviet Union with CIA funding and training).

The Iraq War took longer because it was a more complicate operation than invading a third world failed state and the administration had to sell the nation and rest of the world on a bunch of lies to go to war. They needed to catapult the propaganda. Thats hard work.

Edit: I don't think it had anything to do with the '02 election.
I do think it had to do with PNAC

Bush was a funny guy. Now you guys got even more funny guy Trump. I see Trump highlights on youtube. funny.

I know I actually do think US invasion into afghanistan was war mongering and less valid than Soviet invasion into Afghanistan (which was about stopping jihadi terror on their borders and by helping to save the socialistic afghan government from terrorists that the US trained!!!!). But for whatever reason US got crazy support all your allies and EU for Invasion Afghanistan but not for Iraq. Only UK and few other small countries helped you in Iraq.

I am saying in my opinion since I think if US will attack Iran it would make sense to do it after election.

I don't think the Soviet-Afghan War started because Russia wanted to put down jihadis. I think jihadis were in response to Russia's coup and oppressive rule. edit: it was also a cold war proxy that the Carter and Reagan administration baited the Soviets into. I could be wrong on some of that.

And the point of my original reply to you was to show you that the Iraq War required 9/11.
I don't see another 9/11 happening and I don't see people buying into the necessary propaganda, especially the kind this administration would present, to get us into a war with Iran.

Yeah, I was thinking about this, and if Sessions does something with weed, that would be the perfect first petition drive. Not sure if this is the topic to do it on. Probably wouldn't get much traction.

Afghanistan borders Iran. Iran is high on the hitlist of the borderless empire of globalism.

This is another witch hunt founded on disinformation and propaganda. Israel is garnering millions from us annually, meanwhile contributing nothing to our cause, and to make matters worse they're highly influential when it comes to any/all of our foreign escapades.

Iran is no different than Iraq, Libya, or Syria.

They want sovereignty, and why is that a bad thing?

This thread is 10 pages after 11 days. I've never heard anything resembling the US going to war with Iran. I'm just surprised this thread is stickied still.

Anyway, whatever. I just don't think this is a thing. The poll at 94something % agrees.

It's a sticky because it's by the POTWR.

Also, it's a bona fide topic. I voted "no," but it's a definite possibility, and we are certainly stoking tensions. People need to be paying attention to this.

There are what, 5 threads stickied? That's why I'm questioning the validity. And it's only at 10 pages. I don't care that much, but don't you think a NK nuclear war thread would be at about a hundred pages by now, let alone far more people have vested interest in that?

This is somewhat of an interesting conversation, just don't think it's sticky worthy.

Like I said, it's stickied because the POTWR gets a sticky.

I agree that NK would be a larger thread, but that's because everyone is paying attention to it. No one is paying attention to us sticking our dicks into the wasp nest with Iran.

Also, the "tension" with North Korea is 100% the result of Donald Trump's ego. If it weren't for Trump being a giant bitch of a manchild, relations would be as stable as they have ever been. Meanwhile, the tension with Iran has nothing to do with Donald Trump: it has to do with 4 generations of warhawking cunt bags whispering in his ear and trying to connive their way into violating Iran's sovereignty.

If you had any concept of US foreign relations history, you wouldn't consider it jumping the shark. We've been imposing needless and punitive sanctions on Iran and looking for an excuse to invade them for decades.
