This article shows the confirmed casualties.
However, other sources claim a death toll of around 200 more ‘mostly Russian’ volunteers who were killed during a failed attack on a US and Kurd-held fortress.

What are your thoughts on this? Were these Russian contractors in any way linked to the Kremlin, or do you think they were there of their own volition/hired by local government?
It seems pretty serious, I’m surprised more people aren’t talking about it... Russian nationals taking military action against US advisers and vice-versa...?
Would have thought there’d be some serious escalation of the conflict. Instead, it gets swept under the carpet...
Yeah, I know they’re officially not acting on behalf of Moscow, but remember what happened when Blackwater guys were killed? They tore the entire city up after that...

Anyway, just trying to get an understanding of the political mechanics and military implications around this. Is this likely to continue?

Nothing will come up from this Putin may condem it or two then they will just continue to go supporting
Asad if the killing continues that is another story though.
