Ultimate James Bond 007 Thread

My top five:

1. Casino Royale
2. Skyfall
3. Licence to Kill
4. GoldenEye
5. Goldfinger

You intended to riddle this post with astonishing bigotry and ignorance, I assume?

I'm sure he could easily dye his hair to look darker much more convincingly than Craig can.

astonishing bigotry and ignorance is what I am about son.

The actor is gay, Bond won't be gay;

I think you're a little confused how things work, here, let me help;

I'm saying Luke Evans should be Bond, but he won't be called Luke Evans James Bond, he'll still be James Bond.

I said Luke Evans is gay, not that JB will be gay.

Luke Evans is the right age to play Bond, moreso than the ginger pretty boy from TV.

DC (Daniel Craig, not Daniel Cormier silly) was same age as LE when he started Bond, and will have churned out 5 - an ample service.

JB suppose to be in his 30s not 40s unless 40 is the new 30

Craig sucks. He can’t even pull of a suit, his clothes always wear him. He has the demeanour of a dumbass. Always looks confused. The spy persona he played in Munich was far superior and suited to him.

Brosnan in goldeneye is the GOAT performance and GOAT movie(followed closely by Goldfinger). Every character is iconic (natalya, Xenia, Boris, Oromov, Janus, fat mafia guy) and the video game adds to the legacy. The new Craig movies lack iconic scenes and villains. Goldeneye has the opening in the dam, the monaco Ferrari chase/Monte Carlo gambling, St Petersburg tank chase, South American satellite thing. It all fits perfectly together. Brosnan wears his clothes (it actually looks believable he would wear them in real life) and is suave. Bond has to be elegant and suave. Craig looks like my shoe shine boys alcoholic father.

Who else went out and invested in the Omega Seamaster Pro in tribute to Pierce?

True. Always said that.

Craig looks like a well-groomed bouncer but is nowhere near Bond caliber in terms of stock.

Dislike Brosnan though. His grin makes him way too punchable.

For me : Connery #1, Moore #2, Dalton #3.

Even though some of the Moore ones were goofy, they were still fun as hell. Moonraker, Octopussy, Live and Let Die, I will always watch those.

Honestly to me ranking all the Bonds seems pointless since a lot of this kind of stuff is clearly not aiming for the same thing as say Skyfall.

Fun fact: although he was of Scottish ancestry on his father's side, Fleming did not like the idea of the perfect English gentleman spy he had created being played on film by a working class Scot. Fleming wanted Ian Ogilvy to play the role. However, he was so impressed by Connery's performance in Dr No that he ret-conned Bond's background in the books to include a Scottish father and a term spent at Fettes Collage in Edinburgh:cool:

Honestly the only good Bond movie for me is Skyfall. I don't like others, I don't even know how come I've seen so many of them... probably still being entertaining.

Yeah, directors all have different visions and ideas. You see that in lots of sequels and series. Even in TV shows. Some plots are better than others as well. In the Bond movies I also think settings play a large role depending on what you like....I love foreign countries, ski settings, awesome windy road chases...so those movies appeal to me.

I mean its the same character but comparing SKyfall to The Man With the Golden Gun to me is just apples to oranges, the films simply aren't attempting the same thing at all.

I find it funny how people picked the only Bond film with the most plot holes.
Makes me question their interest level in the entire series.
Skyfall was not a good Bond film. It was actually dumbed down a lot.

is this one of those i hope the next james bond is gay thread TS usually does

After the first two the rest of the Craig bond movies were passable at best. The first two were great and really well done though.

Skyfall was so bad I don't remember much of it at all.

Ian Ogilvy... ? Who on the night of the Dr. No premiere was 19 years of age... ? That Ian Ogilvy... ?

Quantum of Solace was great... ?

From what I've read, yes. Ogilvy did go on to play The Saint, who shares some of Bond's characteristics, and indeed was played by Roger Moore in the TV show.

Quantum was easily the weakest of his Bond films so far, something Craig himself admits. I personally rank them in this order,

Casino Royale

Skyfall

Spectre

Quantum of Solace

I agree with the ranking, but what did Fleming see Ogilvy in that made him think he'd be a good Bond?
