UFC Structure Of Fighter Pay Is Corrupt

The UFC is a for profit business based on entertainment. All sports is entertainment. That's why you see shitty baseball or basketball markets like Montreal and Seattle have their teams moved to better places. Because they don't make money.

At the end of the day, the best fighter in the world doesn't necessarily make the company the most money. That's not the UFC or the fighter's fault, that's the fans fault for not supporting the best fighter
The Sonic's left because the city wouldn't approve a new arena, nothing more

No one wants 2 massive dudes swing for the fences for a minute then spend upto 24 minutes pawing at each other from exhaustion.

Stipe hasn't faced anyone over 265.

I didn't say they do. People do want to see the most impressive heavyweights available though. That's why Brock Lesnar set PPV records despite having a shortened career from diverticulitis. Brock is still tied for the record of most consecutive successful HW title defenses after all this time. He went three rounds against Hunt and din't look tired and that was with 5 years of ring rust. Brock can make millions of dollars a year with various options regarding how he wants to make those millions. That's a very rare commodity. Most guys can't even find one profession where they can make even one million dollars a year. Brock makes millions per year with a very light work schedule.

You say it is corrupt, but your argument doesn't even attempt to show that it is. I think you meant to say that the UFC pay structure is unfair.

They pay the most money to a guy who would get destroyed by dozens of guys on The UFC roster. He's not the best fighter. He's successful as long as The UFC protects him from fighting bigger, better fighters. They protect him because they aren't promoting sport; they're promoting who has the loudest mouth and the most outrageous personality, neither of which have anything to do with athleticism. They're paying based on personality - not fighting ability and for a promotion that prides itself on being the leader of mixed martial arts - that's corrupt. They pay the most for attributes which have nothing to do with MMA ability.

About bringing the view homie! I hate it but also remember if you keep winning in the UFC, you can make some money for yourself.... Look at Damian Maia or Donald Cerrone both Millionaires while not being PPV guys.

I don’t think you know how business works .you generally get paid in relation to the revenue you generate for the company. It’s pretty simple

More like you get paid in relation to how much you can get from a company not in relation to what your actualy worth
Adverage ceo is prob worth 10x Less than they get (dana even less) but it is what it is
By contrast
In the ufc the diaz bros prob are worth what they are asking or more given the interest ,ppv sales etc they generate but arent ever getting it

Im sorry but a guy cheating and just winning isn't all that impressive.
He won the 29-28, compare that to his partner in drugs Jones and how he looked against Cormier and you see why it was pretty underwhelming.

UFC is a private business.

They can do whatever they want to make money.

Where’s your proof the Diaz brothers are worth anything ? Nate was famously not a needle mover, he only drew big numbers fighting Conor. Nick Diaz was from fighting gsp.Nate Diaz was on practically nothing but free cards prior to fighting Conor so that itself shows his worth.

They are just two lucky idiots with overinflated egos that almost match their even more overinflated skills.
If we went by actually fighting success( which I think a lot of people say they want) then nick should be paid peanuts since he hasn’t won a fight in the ufc since bj Penn in 2011 which by the way is his sole ufc win. The guy is 1-3 under the ufc banner. Any other fighter would be cut.

No no your revenue and your leverage.

Some MMA fans don't get that
Dallas Cowboys & NY Yankees are the most profitable teams in their sports.
Neither were champs in this decade

lol. appreciate the mad thread
beloved mark kerr was never a champ though..

As others said, you do not understand the meaning:

cor·rupt
having or showing a willingness to act dishonestly in return for money or personal gain.

When you're the best an athlete working for a promotion that is a sports promotion, and instead of paying you the most because you have the most impressive athletic performances, It's dishonest to change the standards by which they determine who get said the most and decide to base it on criteria which has nothing to do with athletic performance such as "most outrageous personality."

You are so off, its silly
Add "dishonest" to words you do not understanding the meaning of

dis·hon·est:
  1. behaving or prone to behave in an untrustworthy or fraudulent way.
  2. intended to mislead or cheat
UFC has been very upfront that those that bring in the most, get the most

if anything it would be closer to "corrupt" not to pay the people that bring in the most money accordingly.

its dishonest for a for-profit fight promotion company to pay the most to fighters who bring in the most profit?

Do you understand the concept of capitalism or are you a 14 year old "socialist" who just found out about it on reddit?

The highest paid champion should be the champion who is willing to fight any challenger on the entire UFC roster. That makes that champion the best of the best. That's far more impressive than only defending a "championship" against people who all weigh between 145 and 155 pounds.

You realize that is not up to UFC, right?
