UFC Record of Arena Sellout for UFC 234 broken in 8 minutes...

Cool! Will this be a Sunday AM card local, and a Sat night card here in the States?

“Melbourne has proven once again why it is known as the sports capital of Australia, if not the world,” David Shaw, UFC Senior Vice President International and Content said.

Don’t ticket companies pretty much buy them all and then sell them with a ton of fees on top?

That's good and all, but the Marvel/Docklands Stadium that hosted UFC 193 held over 56k seats, meanwhile the Rod Laver Arena holds about 15k.

Australia gets top-ranked HWs and now a title fight while UK still gets barely-above-Cage-Rage-level regional FightPass cards
UK is kind of at a low point right now for name recognition in the UFC right now. Bisping retired which was their easy go to for setting up more interest in the area. And the current most exciting british prospect is in Bellator. So they might not be getting enough interest to even warrant bigger names as the region may not care enough at the moment so it'd be a wasted booking of a more interesting fighter. Whittaker has whipped up interest in australia so it's worth their time to make good cards as it'll actually get the draw they're looking for to fill their venues.
