UFC/MMA hype is gone

A sport that is 30 years old and threads like this. Lol.

If I understand the model, they rather have tons of events thrown at us every week, but they aren't worth marketing outside the audience they already have watching these. In addition, they want to provide about 1 PPV event a month with mild marketing for these events (usually some billboards, and some ads I'll sometimes see for these events) But every 4-5 months, they will have some bigger name guys on a card, and they will promote the snot out of those and hype those fights.

So, I don't think hype is dying per say, you just see it being selective on cards that deserve it.

watching youtube videos of pride doesn't count as wathcing since the pride days
You just had to be present at the time these big fights happened, especially in MMA. Rewatching old fights isn’t close the same as the hype and feel of living and watching it live. Imagine rewatching TJ vs Cody compared to being there for the build up and watching it live. Wasn’t watching during the pride days but I can 100% understand how different it must have been
