UFC fighters react to battle between Trump and NFL over #TakeAKnee anthem protest

I haven't been following this protest closely and before today I hadn't seen any photos of it, but now that I have I have to ask, why are all these players copying Tim Teabow and kneeling in supplication to something they apparently object to?

Surely the most appropriate thing to do would be to turn their backs, not take the universal symbol of supplication and submission and make it look like they are unworthy worms grovelling in the presence of the mighty American anthem.

Does anyone know where this idea originated from, because it seems like another 4Chan prank where they plant the seed of suggestion in the minds of a few gullible idiots and laugh as people do something that is the opposite of what they think it means.

What's next? Kowtowing in front of police officers to show them that you don't respect their authority? Licking the boots of white supremacists as a symbol of defiance?

Trump says or does something to divide the country every day. We had a block party 2 weeks ago and all my neighbors, both republican and democrat had fun! Plenty of images/video of people in Houston and Florida helping each other despite race and political affiliation during the hurricanes.

The NFL kneel protest was basically forgotten about. For some reason he felt the need to pee on it. Dude is condemning black NFL players for a peaceful protest much harder than the white supremacists he said were mostly good people. Not like he has better things to do, like help out Puerto Rico, not start nuclear war with North Korea, lower my taxes or appoint people to positions who actually have experience in the department they are heading.

The NFL puts its foot down when some players want to honor the cops that were gunned down in Dallas, but they let everything slide when it's a bunch of uninformed black millionaires bitching about police brutality. Fuck the NFL.
