UFC 215 & 216 Early PPV Numbers ...

After taking a moment to reflect, things should be ok if UFC 217 does huge numbers.

The 1 or 2 shit cards followed by a super card is good imo.

Toss the PPV model and cut the deal with a network, Showtime, or whoever... Get the add dollars that way.

The PPV's have so much hype and commercial's between fights it might as well be on TV anyhow....

They need to lessen the events with the new tv deal. Have more events on tv, and only the real big ones as ppv.

I agree, it would be smart to make it like a season, a champ defends every 4th month (a season) and fighters should fight twice within those 2 months to get the title shot. The winner of the season gets the next title shot 4 months later.

Pair your strong divisions with weak divisions, and it actually even out to every champion defending 3 times a year.

It would recreate that tournament style format, creat divisions within the rankings. Ie. Break it 5's. If your top 5-10 and lose you fall into the top 10-15 category. If you win you go into the top 1-5.

Would make it fair and we wouldn't constantly have better fighters and fights pushed aside for money fights.

I guess there are coincidences that happen 3 times in a row. <Lmaoo>

UFC 200 Brock Lesnar was the co-main event
Second time she fought Rousey
She is yet to headline a third card that did a mill.

She sure got some help :)

I think they should stop putting MM's name on posters. Make him the 2nd fight of the PPV card.

No. Casuals couldn't careless about titles.

Ferguson and Lee just aren't compelling fighters to casuals.

It is not just casuals. Titles are not necessarily based on rankings. Sometimes a gatekeeper like Bisping can get a title with 1 great performance. Also there are shallow divisions where a fighter has beaten everyone who present any sort of a challenge.

People are looking at Nate the wrong way the overall fight will be bigger than Tony obviously but what will Nate do with the popularity he did nothing with the popularity he gained from Conor he just sat on the sidelines. Why give more popularity to Nate when he doesn't fight anybody else on the roster bar Mcgregor. Why not give Ferguson the Mcgregor rub a guy that fights every contender there is.

Why do fans care about PPV numbers is beyond me.

Because low numbers means they have to change things up. Don't you hear all the crying about money fights getting in the way of legitimate contenders on here? These 2 events are why those fights happen.

Nunes went from back to back 1M+ buys

To less than one tenth that buy rate.

Conor still needs to fight Tony but

don't expect the UFC to push for it

Nunes wasn't responsible for either of those 1 million buys.

Conor said he would become partners with the UFC and thats exactly what has happened, expect to see mcgregor sports and entertainment branding on the octagon in his next fight, bookmark this shit for future reference lads

It's clear that casuals see a MM fight scheduled

And immediately lose interest in the entire card

MM had awful PPV numbers with Conor on his undercard FFS

Nope. Conor wasn't even a star at the time.

There are so many ads on a UFC card that in the end of the event you feel like the UFC owes you money.

A lot of the people who complain about rankings and such are the same Sherdoggers who blatantly admit they illegally stream the PPV's, so that doesn't really make a difference.

I'll go back to my original argument, it's the fact that most fighters just aren't compelling figures enough for casuals to want to pay to watch them.

With most Sherdoggers unfortunately, that's no the case. They'll blatantly admit they illegally stream the PPV's no matter who's headlining or what the card is like.

That makes no sense, conor is the draw not nate, nate vs Ferguson would do poor number also, conor vs anyone does high numbers

Then why are Conor's two most watched MMA fights against Nate Diaz?

Conor's fight against Eddie Alvarez was for the title and it came after the two Diaz fights and yet fewer people watched it.

This has been expected since the fight with Mayweather, so you're not really saying anything that hasn't been said previously...

McGregor will use this as a reason to duck Tony.
