There are too many fighters on the roster and too many belts for casual fans to keep track of. When the UFC brand was at its strongest there were just 5 belts. Silva was considered a poor draw because he was selling 300-400k. Now, I barely know half the fighters on the prelims and I watch every event. Imagine trying to keep track of every team in baseball, which is about equal to keeping up with the UFCs 500 man roster. How in the hell are casuals going to know if a card is "stacked" or not. The UFC needs to do some serious restructuring. Possibly setting up a splinter WEC type organization for the lighter weights(125 & 135 mens which have never sold) and shedding half the fighters in all divisions. Get the numbers down, and promote the top talent so at least the casuals know who they are. You don't have to create stars, but people should know who the champ's opponent is.

Half of ~70 million for UFC Conor show is better than 100% of a 150K PPV buy show...

Conor has all the leverage. 100m in the bank and doesnt need to work unless price is right. And Nate will be next.

    I don't see it happening.
UFC could have prevented Conor from making that $100m btw
There is zero chance that WME doesn't have him contracted before that fight (regarding his future with UFC).
    WME are sharks contractually

This was the first card I didn't buy in years. Yes, we can discuss there were worst BUT, several variables and I went to a party (non-MMA) and I came back in time for last two fights.

Yeah, I sure af did not buy PPV and I like what I saw. If they make Conor vs Nate, I'm def. never buying again, but will still watch Haha

WOW. Sad to see the numbers down. Time to build up some new stars. They have Volkan , who straight sleeps people, and only hardcore fans know him.

UFC is at a weird point right now because most of their newers fans Hardly know or absolutely have clue about the previous generation of fighters. The golden era fighters...guys like Liddell l, Ortiz, GSP, Bj, shogun, Hughes, and more of the PRIDE cross overs. These guys are all either retired, past their primes, or about to retire.

The only people that are actually buying the ppvs these days are the hardcore fans, it's yet again...we...that carry the UFC through its toughest times.

I think Conor's fame is about to run up and Ronda is already shot

    Its weird.
One of the biggest strengths of WME is their Hollywood connections & I'm, not seeing anything different regarding that.
I expected fighters to be on top talk shows regularly & in the WME-era we really only seen one new one do a low-rated show (Bisping on Conan)
Heck, Kimmel has a share in UFC & nothing.
I thought the idea of the celeb buy-in would be top names tweeting about fights, etc.

    Very weird

Its been posted on here a lot, but fastest way to break it down is:

In 2015 UFC made $157m profit
John Nash (who along with Meltzer are the go-to biz guys) reported UFC PPV accounted for roughly 30% of UFC revenue in 2012/3.
Since 2015 was a good year for PPV, lets say it was 40% & the ratio is similar to profit (it should be close)
That mean UFC roughly profited in the area of $90m in 2015 without any PPV
Since UFC's biggest source of revenue is existing contracts that escalate every year (I posted the exact numbers of how much UFC makes each year from Fox that Meltzer reported & its about $10m higher than year earlier) that would put them over $100m without a dime profited off PPV.

    The FOX numbers:

In 2015, the UFC received $129 million from FOX.
In 2016 that number increased to $140 million, and then $154 million in 2017 and $168 million in 2018.

So UFC made $25 million more just from Fox in 2 years
