$6,295,000 / 457 fights = 13,770$ average pay to two competitors that Reebok needs to account for on a given UFC card.

Obviously the numbers are skewed for the fighters at the top like Bisping earning 40k from Reebok.

The last reported card in 2017 Cyborg vs Holm, the bottom tiered fighters earned $2,500 for their Reebok outfitting pay. In 2018 however, Reebok has upped it to $3,500 minimum.

I think you mean 'mean average'. Median is the number literally in the middle (so whatever the 228th/229th highest paid fighter made).

$3,500 for those with 0-3 fights, and $5,000 for those with 4-5 fights.

That's embarassing. It's 7k average per fighter.

Any scrub in his first UFC fight could get two or three sponsors that would assure more than that.

Welcome to the big leagues. Can't wait for Reebok to go away. When does their contract end?

6 million times 6 years = 36 million. Dana is pocketing that Reebok money

It is not Reebok upping anything, it is UFC
Reebok pays a set amount for the rights to advertise on UFC's events
UFC dictates the payments.

So? Why should Reebok advertise for free? In entertainment (including movies and TV) there is no such thing as free product placement.

How many of those fights convinced people to spend their money? It is frightening how many don't understand simple business mechanics.

70 million over 6 years and every cent was supposed to go to the fighters

Outside of cost related to the venture like staff, etc.

But they are certainly coming up short even with that.

The deal was not Fert's finest moment

Eh. They should have been honest and said look product placement is never free and we are keeping a lions share. Honestly IMO the fighters all received free money for doing absolutely nothing but showing up and wearing a outfit. Its the easiest money ever earned and its guaranteed 100% of the time.

Here is the thing
If UFC would budget out for the length of the contract & at the end of the contract year go back & bonus the fighters that fought from the "leftover" they would not catch crap.
They can certainly afford the extra $3-5m
Its a bad look all around IMO

That is not true for the UFC prelim fighters. In fact, if you would research articles from the pre-Reebok era, the lower-level fighters were having difficulty collecting on the sponsors they were able to acquire. Further, even with Reebok, fighters can have sponsors outside of fight week--the women fighters appear to have taken advantage of this fact more than the men.

I am far from a supporter of the deal, but so many don't discuss that there is more monet than ever to be made away from fight week.
Much more than those 2 weeks per year

Yea I agree but I am looking at it from the advertising perspective only. They should have just been straight up on day 1 and said we keep 25-50% of the money because its our broadcast and advertising is not free.
