I've always been of the opinion if the champ is ready the ufc should get him on the first card possible. Ideally he'd fightthe #1 contender but if that person is not ready you kind of go on down the line. This is a bit of a weird circumstance cuz literally only maia is deserving but that doesn't really matter to me, if the champ wants to fight a lot he should be able to. Give him kamaru usman. Dude has no hype but he's done pretty well for himself and the fight doesn't need to be huge if its on the Jones-DC card. Maia can just get next.
 
lmao Woodley sat out a full year before waiting for a title shot. Woodley is one of the most hypocritical crybabies I've ever been aware of.

lol, he's from Ferguson too. Woodley probably still thinks Mike Brown was killed unfairly even though forensic evidence suggests the exact opposite, and everyone who said he was innocent admitted they lied later. But that would require reading past clickbait headlines and having a mind of your own, and Woodley doesn't have that capability.

Maia said from the start, right after his fight, that he would take a break then he had a seminar/commitment. AFter that he was free.
That is no different than fighters who have movie commitments, Gyms and many other things that they schedule time and work with the UFC finding the best time/date that works for both parties.

So in this case, Woodley heard he would not be available, and started calling him out to fight at the exact date he knowing full well Maia would not be available.

Now it is time for him to STFU, stop whining and set a date that is good to the UFC, Woodley and Maia and get this fight signed & under way.

It's not happening regardless of what Woodley does or doesn't say.
He's pushing because he was apparently told he could be on one of the summer cards earlier in the year, but Diaz didn't want to entertain a fight. He's just trying to get on the Jones/DC card. It's not happening, it'll already happen later in the year. This was just a last push, probably a quote from before Cyborg/Megan was confirmed.

to be honest, I think he is playing mind games with Maia.
it should backfire though. Maia does not play mind games. He is nice that way.
