WW has not evolved that much, if at all, from GSPs prime days. Hell Maia and Robbie are still top 5 WWs. Prime Fitch, Sheilds, Alves (he was a BEAST in 2008), Hendricks (before good testing), prime Condit etc.. would all be top WWs today and possibly champs. WW, LHW and HW have not gotten better in the last 10 years

Yet, DC experiences none of it.

Prime GSP would pick him apart standing, and stuff his takedowns. Woodley is Josh Kosheck 2.0

2008-2009 GSP beats Woodley 99 out of 100 times IMO

Lmao I was waiting to the end to see if joking... Disappointed but not surprised. What a pathetic weak mindset you have

It's obvious you an Woodley both have a chip on your shoulder towards Whitey

very, very speculative. I'd probably favor woodley over hughes prime for prime as hughes might not get the TD, but GSP would figure out a way to beat him. probably a jab fest similar to the kos fight. no way woodley outstrikes GSP over 5 rounds.

Maia was a MW, Robbie gets beat by RDA who is a LW and only looks good fighting the old guard. In this day a class of caliber of Hardy would NEVER challenge for the title, you actually have to have a streak going. Of course since its 10 years the gap is not huge but still there.

This. GSP found a way to beat every single fighter he ever faced. He was able to make adjustments and beat all styles. Woodley has shown the inability to do so. He lost to both Rory and Shields.

Also, GSP not only beat his opponents, he dominated them.

Christ, the level of projection in this post is off the charts. Just because you're a racist, doesn't mean everyone else is.

skill for skill the best WW ever is Wonderboy who btw was objectively clearly robbed in both fights against Woodley.

No, woodley would factually not be favored against GSP and if a Rory Mac jab was enough to stifle everything Woodley has, I imagine Georges would beat him.

Hardy only got a title shot because GSP beat everyone else. If Woodley beat every good fighter at WW, you would see a Hardy level fighter getting a title shot.

Looking at the top 10s. I would actually say WW is much WEAKER today then 10 years ago. A LW is ranked #2, freaking Colby Covington is #3, two guys from GSPs time are #4 and #5

    2010
    1. Georges St. Pierre
    2. Jon Fitch
    3. Jake Shields
    4. Thiago Alves
    5. Josh Koscheck
    6. B.J. Penn
    7. Nick Diaz
    7. Carlos Condit
    9. Diego Sanchez
    10. Paul Daley

    VS

    Now (with Woodley champ)

    1 Stephen Thompson

    2 Rafael Dos Anjos

    3 Colby Covington

    4 Robbie Lawler

    5 Demian Maia

    6 Jorge Masvidal

    7 Darren Till

    7 Kamaru Usman

    9 Neil Magny

    10 Santiago Ponzinibbio

    I would take 2010 easy

Skill for skill, Georges is way better than Wonderboy.

Georges had ground and standup skills..... I've seen no offensive or any sort of submission game from Wonderboy at all.

Tyron is good but best WW ever? I think that is a major stretch. Hughes would of destroyed him in his prime with that freak strength and GSPs grind is better than just about anyone. Tyron might not even beat GSP today if they fought.

If Condit hadn't twisted his knee (freak accident) then Woodley wouldn't be where he is today. We need a rematch just to be sure about Woodley's greatness, in my opinion.

Condit beat Rory who beat Woodley.
Condit also beat DHK a lot more convincing than Woodley did (KO of the Night, Woodley only got Performance of the Night).
Condit put a beating on Lawler and got robbed of the belt. Woodley beat a clearly shot Lawler just 5 months later for the belt.

We need a rematch. Then we can speculate. Yanadameen.

    GSP disagree

35 seconds in this video and again at 2 minutes and 35 seconds

    2 minute in this video

You can also hear John Danaher on Joe Rogan podcast saying how GSP got better during his time off, and returned with weapons he didn't had before, like a left hook.
