It's official: CBS is moving forward with its Big Bang Theory prequel. The network has handed out a straight-to-series order for the 2017-18 broadcast season for Young Sheldon, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

The news comes as the comedy created by Chuck Lorre and Steve Molaro had been casting ahead of production on the pilot this month. This is the first time that the network and producers Warner Bros. Television have confirmed the project. An episode count has not yet been determined.

Young Sheldon recently cast its star, setting Big Little Lies actor Iain Armitage as the young version of Jim Parsons' Sheldon Cooper, with Zoe Perry taking on the role of his mother, Mary Cooper, that was originally played by the actress' mother, Laurie Metcalfe.

In picking up the comedy to series, CBS has also released Young Sheldon's formal logline, filled out its cast and set the pilot director. The project will revolve around a 9-year-old Sheldon Cooper (Armitage) as he lives with his family in East Texas and goes to high school. The concept was originally described as Malcolm in the Middle with a young Sheldon. Lance Barber, Raegan Revord and Montana Jordan have also joined the cast. Details on their roles are being kept under wraps, though sources tell THR that Revord will play a young version of Sheldon's twin sister Missy; Barber will play George, Sheldon and Missy's father and Mary's husband; and Jordan will play George Jr., Sheldon's older brother.

Been watching Santa Clarita Diet on Netflix, on EP7 out of 10.

Decent comedy show, I quite like it and hope it gets renewed for another season.

PS

I hate Big Bang Theory, awful show. Not even funny at all.

COLONY season 2 episode 9

After the events of episode 8 and 9, I'm legit enjoying the show. I'm liking the direction they're taking the main characters and can't wait to see where it goes.

Tried out TIME AFTER TIME ep. 1 and 2

Fun premise about H.G. Wells and Jack the Ripper time travelling to the present day. Josh Bowman impressed me as the charismatic and intense Jack the Ripper. Didn't know he had it in him. Last I saw him was in Revenge. Also didn't realize he was British since he played an American so convincingly.

Don't know how they'll stretch this out to a season since it felt like they could have ended it on episode 2.

But one thing that'll probably keep me watching this is Genesis Rodriguez (mine!). I've had a crush on her since she had a small role in one episode of Entourage.

Noah Hawley's Marvel Drama LEGION Renewed for a Second Season at FX

Legion-Dan-Stevens-Rachel-Keller-031517-Dragonlord.jpg

FX is staying in business with Marvel. The cable network has handed out a second-season renewal for Noah Hawley's twisted take on comic property Legion, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. The series will return in 2018, with a formal episode count yet to be determined.

The series from the Fargo mastermind launched Feb. 8 to stellar reviews — FX notes that the drama starring Dan Stevens has a 93 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes and a Metacritic score of 82. No streaming or VOD data has been released yet, but the premiere cumed 4.4 million viewers and 2.4 million adults 18-49 (with an encore) once live-plus-three-day ratings came in. In Live+7, Legion is averaging 1.68 million viewers among adults 18-49 and 2.85 million total viewers. It ranks second in the demo and fourth in total viewers when compared with all new cable launches thus far in 2017.

"The first season of Legion was a stunning achievement,” FX president of original programming Eric Schrier said. “More than a new series, Legion is a wholly original take on the super hero genre. Our thanks to Noah Hawley for taking the creative risks and shattering expectations. It’s a privilege to work again with Noah, his producing partners, the outstanding cast and our partners at Marvel Television on another season of Legion.”

Unlike most Marvel TV fare, Hawley's Legion is focused less on the comic book mythology and more on the mental health issues that come with the powers of the show's central characters.

THE LEFTOVERS Final Season Trailer Teases the End of the World

His name is Shadow. He's always been black. Nice attention to detail there.

What does that matter? Can you point to the place in the book where they say he was black? Since you pay such attention to detail?

PS - you would know that Odin is Shadow's dad since you have such attention to detail. Oh, and Odin was whiter than a motherfucker.

He was always black.

Could be because of his black mother.

You mean his white father? Nowhere does it mention in the book that his mom is black. If you have evidence of this post it. The book made it sound like he looked almost kind of close to an american indian.

PS Odin would never go black....:eek::eek:

This is why I am asking when did he become black.....sometime after the book came out....just like when dumbledore turned gay

He had coffee and cream skin and his mother had sickle cell.

Stop being obtuse.
