Trump's wall of Bull Sh

It won't get built. Wasteful money will be apportioned for it, contractors with administration ties will walk away with millions for shitty uncompleted work. And the same posters here cheering will lie and tell us that it never really mattered when it doesn't come to fruition. Like they've done for every other broken promise trump has made.

As if being a complete waste of time and money wasn't enough -- because we can secure our border more effectively via much cheaper means -- Trump's wall signals a totalitarian regime.

I mean this in a very literal way. Most Americans don't want to build the wall, maybe up to 60-70 percent, but a small, vocal, and rather vindictive set of the population does. Trump is appeasing this fraction of the population by forcing the wall onto the rest of the country despite an opposing majority.

And of course, Trump's tone is vindictive. "We will build the wall!" he tweets. He's taking pleasure in goading and agitating not just the media but many of his fellow Americans.

Shit president. No amount of economic upswing can justify the amount of bullshit he's subjecting the country to just to get his rocks off.
Build that fucker! Go Trump! Woohoo! Your crybaby tears are delicious you liberal wastes of space!

Yes, there are lots of fences already there. But we can spend less money and create the same amount of security or more via other means. The wall was a campaign gimmick that, by virtue of Trump's unlikely victory, become a reality when it never should have been taken seriously.

And despite what @Pwent thinks, a bad idea doesn't suddenly become a good idea if it's author wins the election.
It is an absolutely great idea the American People want the wall that's why we voted for Trump, move to Canada or Mexico if you don't like it.

im glad you concede that you dont know what youre talking about

I've highlighted that Trump's plans to build a wall smack of totalitarianism, foisting unwanted policy and infrastructure on the country, carried out in a tone of vindication against his enemies. None of your responses have addressed this connection in a meaningful way.

1) its not totalitarianism by definition, which ive proven
2) its not unwanted because people voted for it

Not really. Being a good president is a rather high standard to achieve. The ability to bring people together is a hallmark. Trump seems to be determined to do the opposite.

I mean really. Look at his conduct.

None of that has anything to do with what I posted..

But if you actually listened to his inauguration speech, he talked a lot (and has in the past) about bringing the country together. He is putting America first. He can't help it if a lot of people (like you) hate America and want to see it destroyed.

Obama was all about dividing the country. Trump even referenced that in his inauguration speech. He wants to bring the country together. Putting America first by creating jobs SHOULD achieve that until you realize a lot of people in America don't want jobs, they want to be taken care of and pandered to. That's what Obama's policies have encouraged - sit home and we'll take care of the work.

lmao he's been president for, what, three days? and he's already getting shit done. The level of delusion you guys live under is actually kind of amazing to witness.

Wall + some prosecution of illegals for violating immigration laws will create a net flow back toward Mexico. Then we'll see if Mexico deports the Central Americans. Economic resources and political rights of US citizens are being diluted by illegals. The amount of that dilution is debatable.

First it was: "OMG Trump want's to build a wall and restrict Muslim immigration. Literally Hitler"

Then he gets elected (something else these same people said would never happen) and it's: "He won't actually build the wall or restrict Muslim immigration, that was just a lie to dupe you dumb right-wingers into voting for him."

Now the wall is being built, Muslim immigration is being restricted and we're back to more tears and temper tantrums. I'm loving it.

Fuck it, let the little crybaby build his pwecious little wall. I'm sure he and his cabinet members all have ties to the industries and materials required to build it. Pork barrels for everyone!

I'm going to laugh when it doesn't do a damn thing or the first news story pops up about some people digging under it or just walking down a bit more to go around it, lol.

Yaaaahhhh. You're right. Fuck Trump. It's impossible. Never happen.
Russians.

What method would you recommend to more cheaply secure the border?

The first time a tunnel collapses the NYT will be calling Trump a murderer.

Fencing where necessary, drones, sensors, stronger border patrol, crackdown on over-staying work visas, stronger cooperation with Mexican authorities.

All of these are more diplomatic measures. And that's exactly why Trumpians wont back them. Because they are not inflammatory, and that's a central undercurrent of what plays and what doesn't with Trump and CO. If it doesn't make for good "liberal tears," it's not going to be popular.

Pretty goddamn dumb guidelines for running the country.

So fencing instead of a wall. China built the moderately impressive fence of China to keep hordes out? Constantinople fell when the Ottomans penetrated the defensive fence?

Probably a fence establishing a buffer zone, then a wall is what will be needed.
