Build that fucker! Go Trump! Woohoo! Your crybaby tears are delicious you liberal wastes of space! As if being a complete waste of time and money wasn't enough -- because we can secure our border more effectively via much cheaper means -- Trump's wall signals a totalitarian regime.
I mean this in a very literal way. Most Americans don't want to build the wall, maybe up to 60-70 percent, but a small, vocal, and rather vindictive set of the population does. Trump is appeasing this fraction of the population by forcing the wall onto the rest of the country despite an opposing majority.
And of course, Trump's tone is vindictive. "We will build the wall!" he tweets. He's taking pleasure in goading and agitating not just the media but many of his fellow Americans.
Shit president. No amount of economic upswing can justify the amount of bullshit he's subjecting the country to just to get his rocks off.
It is an absolutely great idea the American People want the wall that's why we voted for Trump, move to Canada or Mexico if you don't like it.Yes, there are lots of fences already there. But we can spend less money and create the same amount of security or more via other means. The wall was a campaign gimmick that, by virtue of Trump's unlikely victory, become a reality when it never should have been taken seriously.
And despite what @Pwent thinks, a bad idea doesn't suddenly become a good idea if it's author wins the election.
lmao
im glad you concede that you dont know what youre talking about
I've highlighted that Trump's plans to build a wall smack of totalitarianism, foisting unwanted policy and infrastructure on the country, carried out in a tone of vindication against his enemies. None of your responses have addressed this connection in a meaningful way.
Not really. Being a good president is a rather high standard to achieve. The ability to bring people together is a hallmark. Trump seems to be determined to do the opposite.
I mean really. Look at his conduct.
It won't get built. Wasteful money will be apportioned for it, contractors with administration ties will walk away with millions for shitty uncompleted work. And the same posters here cheering will lie and tell us that it never really mattered when it doesn't come to fruition. Like they've done for every other broken promise trump has made.

What method would you recommend to more cheaply secure the border?
Fencing where necessary, drones, sensors, stronger border patrol, crackdown on over-staying work visas, stronger cooperation with Mexican authorities.
All of these are more diplomatic measures. And that's exactly why Trumpians wont back them. Because they are not inflammatory, and that's a central undercurrent of what plays and what doesn't with Trump and CO. If it doesn't make for good "liberal tears," it's not going to be popular.
Pretty goddamn dumb guidelines for running the country.
