What's especially interesting about this image is that they clearly photoshopped out the strings

The US Saudi relationship goes back decades not sure how this is surprising.

The U.S. and British relationship with Saudi Arabia is a one-stop-shop for anyone with a functioning brain to dismiss the "war on terrorism" as nothing but a complete, total, unmitigated farce.

His base needs to remind him where his loyalties should lie.

Giant corporations?

His idiot supporters don't care. He's slashed worker protections, gutted unions, maimed corporate oversight and deregulated the financial industry that gambled away countless pensions, shifted the tax burden off of the rich and onto the middle class, sought to increase healthcare prices while kicking millions off their coverage, killed net neutrality, removed internet user privacy protections, and attacked wage reform efforts...

And they still think (or at least claim to think) he's fighting for the 9-to-5 working man.

True to form Trump. Did anyone really expect anything different?

AQ is dismantled and UBL is dead. Afghanistan can't be used to train terrorists as widely as it used to.
There hasn't been a successful attack on US soil since 2001. I call it an unqualified success.

How many Islamic terrorist attacks were there in the US before 9/11 and the war on terror?

I was mainly thinking about the types of attacks that the current war on terror would have prevented. Doesn´t seem to be a lot.
There's a reason no AQ style attacks have happened here.
Do you think they just decided not to anymore after their massive success?

I don´t think that the war on terror has prevented anything that wouldn´t probably have been prevented anyways. Except we wouldn´t have the cost of hundreds of trillions of $ and millions of lives lost on a global scale.

Being best buddies and selling billions in weaponry to the absolutely largest exporter of extremism and terrorism makes the war on terror a joke. If it was in any way serious SA would have been turned into a fucking parking lot before anyone else.

That statement is absurd.
There's a reason, and it isn't because they gave up their anti America wet dream.
It's because measures we've taken in the stupidly named war on terror have curtailed their activities.
We destroyed their training camps. Chased them from country to country. Killed off their leadership or captured them. UBL is dead and we got a metric shit ton of information from that. Phone numbers, hard drives, video, etc.

Afghanistan was a fucking rat's nest that had to be cleaned out.

Please.

We HAD to clear out a country that didn't even supply one 9/11 hijacker. o_O Afganistan had nothing to do with 9/11 other than Bin Laden living in it. Most of the people in Afganistan are struggling with living hand to mouth existences to give a shit what is happening on the other side of the planet.

The same could have been accomplished a lot cheaper and more effectively.

The war on terror is also a hell of a lot more than the military actions in ME and Afghanistan.
