Mmm no, the Spanish were obsessed with the preservation of culture so they made sure every subject learned proper spanish, unlike the British who allowed the creation of english based languages.

The weirdest spanish dialects are all in Spain, the hardest spanish to understand for a non-spanish speaker would be caribbean which is basically canarian spanish.

Otherwise the differences between Mexican and Spain Spanish is like the differences between American and British english, there is not much difference.

You can use google translate and see that im actually right.

"Eso es todo" google translates to That is all.

"Ya es todo" google translates to Its all over, but its used more like thats all. Ya means now, es = is and todo is all. So literally is "Now its over" but its used more like thats all.

"Esto es" google translates to "this is". "esto es eso" translates to this is it, but it sounds like a pleonasm in spanish.

So a Mexican Spanish speaker can understand castellan Spanish? How much confusion would there normally be? I always thought it was like Quebec French and France French, in that from what i read they cant understand each other.

Which is what i though, she isn't really a native speaker, she grew up in an anglophone country and probably doesn't comes from wealth isn't? maybe only one of the parents is Hispanic and she doesn't identifies as one?

From my particular experience only well off or educated Hispanic couples can keep their kids speaking proper Spanish, because they go out of their way to educate them properly on it which requires time and effort that overworked parents cant afford.

Since illegals and other immigrants work their asses off and spend little time with the kids, the kids grow up learning English from school and TV.

For example Cain Velasquez spanish is shit, like he cant even talk it at all but someone like Alexis Bledel speaks perfect spanish even with her american accent.

She speaks Spanish proficiently enough to the point where she translates for hospitals. Most of the Spanish I know is somewhere along the lines of "Te amo" or "Te quiero mi amor".

On another note, I love, trust, and stand by my wife. Mi amor could tell me "I just watched Rod1 squat and shit a live chicken in our driveway just five minutes ago", and I'm probably going to believe her before I believe you. Don't take it personal, that's just being a good husband.

Trump is presenting the appearance of making an arrangement with these guys, to appoint them in exchange for being exonerated of whatever the investigations turn up. If he's not doing this, why did he pick just these two guys, NY attorneys who will oversee legal proceedings that he is involved in. Is that just an amazing coincidence?

You dont have to post information about her, i was merely curious about what type of spanish she speaks and why she would choose that translation, but that was just curiosity.

Google translate will confirm that my translation is the correct one if you translate from spanish to english you will see that what your wife says means something else.

That leads me to believe that while she knows spanish she doesnt seems to use it as much.

1.- Not really looked into it, but going from English to Spanish is easy, you can almost directly translate.

2.- If you speak spanish anywhere you will speak spanish everywhere.

That being said there are differences, specially in the nouns and the frequency of use of certain words.

Still its much easier for an anglophone to speak intelligible spanish than for a hispanic to speak intelligible english.

My spoken english is terrible and barely understandable because spelling in english is more complicated, an anglophone can spell spanish words with english rules syllable by syllable and be intelligible.
