Trump Calls Female Senator "Used" In Provocative Tweet

Also I agree with someone else who said, the "used" part isn't the worst part of that tweet. The worst part is insinuating she would perform sexual favors for votes. Only the willfully blind can't see this

The irony of people claiming women aren't given the credit their strength deserves, always rushing to defend and aid them whenever they're seen as being the brunt of an insult by a man.

Good stuff.

This guy just made up an entire point just to try and prove another point that he made up.

If you say so.

To be fair I'll explain myself. Who said women NEED us to defend them? They can do a fine job on their own. It's just that decent men CHOOSE to defend them because maybe we have mothers, sisters and daughters and we have this strange thing called respect. Something Trump voters certainly have none of

I didn't vote for Trump, if that's what you think. That aside, it's a twitter post, he didn't pour a beer over her head. Let the politician fight her own battles. A senator doesn't (and shouldn't) need any white knights. And she's not your mom, sister, or daughter, is she?

Also, do you think the response would be the same if he was insulting a man?

No it absolutely would not be the same... Do you think the response would have been the same had Trump not already been accused like 30 times already of sexual misconduct?

Sorry, I was raised to stand up for women. I don't care if they need it or not. I know in today's society right wingers see that as a bad thing but I will continue to "white knight" if I see a chance to do so.

Also, are you comfortable with our president acting like a 3rd grader? Or do you find it funny?

Well then, with regards to the political arena, you're not doing them any favors with regards to perceived strength.

You can't really compare politicians going at it, to defending your mother, sister, or daughter from some random asshole (which is something I agree that a man should always do). Heck, even a stranger in some instances. But a spat between politicians is different. Let them bang.

Ya I see your point and I'm actually not really out there defending Gillebrand. Trump has a habit of making sexual digs at any women who dares say something about him. It's juvenile and beneath the office of the president.

It is also extremely unnecessary. I mean Trump won, why is that not enough for his frail ego? To me the whole thing just makes America look bad and it doesn't sit well with me.

I agree that twitter posts like this are juvenile. It's not the first time we've seen something like this from him, and it won't be the last. But I thought her response was good enough to stand on its own. She doesn't need any other politicians trying to jump in on her side.

It's a good thing for a politician to show that they can handle their own beefs. I say let them do it, when the opportunity arises.

Agree. How long are we going to do this though? I'm in the impeach crowd so I admit I have an EXTREME dislike and bias for the guy.

I don't know about KG's most recent additions to her body of work, but she was always respected here in NY.

If it's just trash talking other politicians on twitter? Until his term is up. This is just a part of his personality that people are going to have to learn to live with.

I wish it was just that...

Stay classy Mr Trump. Btw, I don't think "USED" was used in the sense of how pornstars are used. o_O

The real problem with this tweet is the rest of it, imo. Saying she, "begged" for contributions and, "would do anything for them", is much more damning.

The President of the United States just accused of sitting Senator of begging him for campaign contributions, and offering him sex for money. It's completely insane, and made even more so by the fact that it barely causes an eyebrow raise at this point.

This degradation of our expectations is actually the most dangerous undercurrent in our political environment. Watch Trump's speech in "Florida" from Friday. There is an indisputable fascist creep occurring.

Ding ding ding. The sitting president just accused a senator of committing crimes on twitter. So do we investigate or are we ignoring it because it came out of Trump's mouth and therefore we know it's bullshit?

I'm surprised Trump fans aren't calling for an investigation. According to their leader, a democrat committed a serious crime. So they should want justice right? It's almost like even they know 90% of the shit from his mouth is complete garbage....

No. That's not how leadership works. We didn't make a system where we pick a leader and then "aw shucks" it for 4 years if it turns out they're completely fucking terrible. And the idea that some Americans like you even think that way is frightening.
