Transgender in Iran

I see a lot of people claiming that Trans conditions are all invented.

And while the whole 1000 genders is ridiculous and a lot of people are claiming things when they are not, there are legitimate people that are born with women brains inside a mans body.

To such extent that transgenderism is recognize in one of the most religious regimes in the world, Iran.

Basically a woman born as a man (1) hounded the late Ayatollah Khomeini to recognize transgender as non-homosexuals (which are banned under Islam) and after a personal meeting in which she was beat up by his bodyguards, Khomeini accepted the fact that transexual are not homosexuals but people born in the wrong gender.

So next time you mock transgender people remember you are being more backwards than a fucking theocracy.

I guess the take away here is that when we strip women of their rights (since we are clearly taking notes from a lunatic theocratic state) we should include dudes that want to be women in that definition. Cool, when they are shrouded up they all sorta look the same anyways.

In many cases they did. To not be deemed as competition to an Emperor/Sultan, gave one a prestigious position in the court of a ruler. Being an eunuch took off the burden to live up to what was traditionally expected of a male.

However the Ayatollah is clearly in the wrong here since Islam discourages body mutilation. The human body is seen as Allah's creation and any modifications are seen as going against Allah's will.

I dont disagree that Islam is generally more backwards in most cases, but one has to wonder, whether thats because of progressivism in western societies, it seems that if right-wingers were given free reign society would be just as shitty for said groups in the west too.
