Top-5 Jones most competitive fights

The argument could be made for Sonnen due to the broken toe and the fact Sonnen almost became LHW champ by default. I consider this a freak circumstance and do not consider that fight to have been competitive. Same with Belfort to a lesser extent.

Basically here's two lists, in list one are fighters who won rounds against Jones. In list two are fighters who didn't. Feel like that's a good way to break it down.
1 Gus
2 Rashad
3 DC 1
4 Machida
5 DC 2
6 Belfort

7 Rampage
8 Glover
9 OSP
10 Sonnen
11 Shogun

Chael Sonnen was 30s away from winning the world title.

5. Lyoto Machida
4. Vitor Belfort
3. DC 1
2. DC 2
1. Gus

Bonnar has to be up there.

He made Jones gas by getting ragdolled.

All the Lyoto haters. He landed a few good punches and body kicks in the first round and clearly won that round. Second round was even in striking until the part where machida switched stances and got caught with the counter punch. That led to machida getting cornered and taken down. He still popped right back up(I know he got cut) Unfortunately he got timed later by jones on a counter. If he kept his non punching hand up to block strikes that would definitely help him. Machida prime had the tools to win but he would have to fight the perfect fight. One fuck up against jones then your done. As evidenced in DC jones 2

Matt Hamill then far down the line Gus, and who ever else survived 5 rounds with Bones.

Chael Sonnen was 30s away from winning the world title.

Yup... how crazy would it have been if Shael held on for 27 more seconds and actually became champ.

Or if he didn't get caught in the triangle with less than 2 mins left.

Nearly won the belts from 2 of the best to ever do it.
