There has been a ton of talk of establishing a 165 division. I think most would agree it only makes sense if they bump 170 to 175. Its very difficult to earn a title shot at 155 and 170 because each division is so stacked. Below is an example of a top 10 or 11 per weight class. Why not have 3 champs out of all these guys? It would create another legit champ to headline cards. Its pretty crazy to think the current set up only allows 2 champs out of all these great fighters below. *Also, I didn't rank them from top to bottom, just a random list of the best guys from each class. Thoughts?

    155

    Connor Mcgregor
    Tony Fergeson
    Anthony Pettis
Jose Aldo (Has said he plans to move up)
Brian Ortega (said he will move up soon)
Max Hollaway (said he will move up soon)
    Eddie Alvarez
    Dustin Porier
    Justin Gaethji
    Al Iaquinta
    Alex Hernandez

    165
Khabib (will never have weight issues at 65 and may even fight better more hydrated)
Kevin Lee (same benefits as Khabib)
Nate Diaz (perfect weight for him)
    Michael Chiesa (safer weight cut)
    James Vick (safer weight cut)
    Francisco Trinaldo (safer weight cut)
Gunner Nelson (was too small for 170)
    Cowboy
    RDA
Jorge Masvidal (too small for 170)
    Dan Hooker

    175
    Twood
    GSP
    Nick Diaz
Darren Til (can probably stay at welterweight with those 5 extra pounds now)
Kelvin Gastleum (Is a natural 175 pounder)
    Colby Covington
    Usman
    Wonderboy
    Damien Maia
    Neil Magney
    Robbie Lawler
    Cowboy Olivera
    Mike Perry
    Ponzanibio

Read my paragraph before. I didn't rank Connor at #1. Its a random list of each class.

165 is dumb... not enough depth at 170 and 185. Plus a 10 lb difference for heavier guys is not as significant as it is for smaller guys.

it waters down the divisions too much - maybe in 5 years time if there is more talent signed

175 is still very stacked. Thats a great list, plus we probably keep Til and get Kelvin back.

Also... like I said above. 10 lbs at smaller weight is more significant.

    10 lbs/135 lbs = 7.4%
    10 lbs/185 lbs = 5.4%
    15 lbs/185 lbs = 8.1 %

I would say 125 is more "watered down" just because its weak. Scrap 125 and make 165 so we get better headliners and co-mains.

While the weight classes might make sense there's not really enough depth in any UFC weight class to justify diluting it by adding more weight classes.
