Your point about consistently displaying great grappling just proves MY point in that Khabib grapples against everyone despite their skillset.

Ferguson is a good grappler and a great fighter but he's not an elite grappler, same as he's not an elite striker. Is he an elite overall fighter...yeah probably, but that's down to cumulative skills, not being particularly amazing at any 1 thing.

Because when you take people down, and when for the most part they got up in 30 seconds and the remaining you're just laying on his chest, and then wait for the last 10 seconds of the round to try to land something funky, but still don't do any significant damage, than yeah, it's closer to lay-n-pray than destruction.

I didn't say it was a ragdoll though he did toss him like a child several times.

You need to learn what you are watching for sure. He landed almost constantly threatening sub transitions and outlanding him wherever the fight went.
