Tomorrow is the big day!

Saw UFC 154, which was GSP's return against Condit, in Montreal. Great sports town, hometown boy. The atmosphere was unlike anything I've ever experienced in my life; 95% of the audience cheering for the same team.

<GSPWoah>

I'm a huge sports fan, and I have to say that UFC events are some of the best bang-for-your-buck for a live event. Hours of entertainment. Enjoy, dude.

My first UFC live in the flesh. So fucking geed up it feels like the night before Christmas. Yes its not the most exciting card and there isn't a title on the line but this has been 20 years in the making. Thought I would share it with my Sherbros.

Back in the late 90's Dad told me about this tournament. The Chinese whispers that we heard was people died and there are no rules and its illegal. Obviously like many things about Martial Arts back then, lots of shit was exaggerated or just plain lies. Saw UFC 1 on VHS when I was around 11/12 and thought it was brutal but didn't look like a legit sport.

Move on a few years and I started paying attention when Tito was fighting. The whole Shamrock 1 feud was what stood out and as a teen the banter got me interested. Then there was a few years off until around 04/05 I started becoming a hardcore. I went back and watched them all from 1. Got into Pride. Always wishing that one fucking day I could experience it. Well tomorrow is that day!

So my fellow just bleeders, what was your first UFC like? How was the atmosphere, the buzz, the vibe?
Also if you see a guy in the crowd attempting to do a JB guy face or like the Crazy Brazilian guy, thats me!

My first live event, was the original UFC on fuel tv in Omaha Nebraska. Stipe Miocic (who, at the time didn't play up the Croation thing very much, introduced himeself as American etc), starched a British fighter in about 30 seconds. The drunk farmer next to me stood up, pointed his beer at the only pocket of British fans in the arena, and shouted "Just like the Revolutionary War all over again!!". Never have I been so proud to be an American, Nebraskan, and UFC fan.

Yeeeeaaah buddy! Have fun!
Mine was UFC FN 24 in Seattle. I effed up and got a little too drunk that night (and the night before) so I don't remember things as well as I should, but met Johny Hendricks (rising star at the time and I think he started really making waves after this event). He was out walking around the promenade like he was just another fan.
Saw Korean Zombie submit Garcia with the twister, Rumble vs Dan Hardy and Mr Wonderful vs Nog.

The atmosphere and energy was awesome! You'll have a blast!

Have a freakin BLAST bruv!!!!!

Card looks like it is low-key going to have several really fun match-ups!

UFC FN63 in Fairfax, Mendes vs Lamas.

Witnessed the incident where Iaquinta raged out at the fans. Met Robbie Lawlers brother by accident. Witnessed a little incident involving the late Josh Samman, RIP. Shook Pena’s hand.

It was funny, I never thought I would geek out for anyone but I kind of did seeing all these people that only existed before that day to me, on a screen. Even Anik and Stann had me geeking... I may have just been out of it since it was an early show and I literally had zero sleep given I had been at the Charlestown casino all night and drove straight to the show from there!

Bahahahahaha thats mad. Whinging poms

I went to UFC 11 and UFC 13 in person. They weren't all that great but I did get to see the pro debuts of Tito and Randy Couture in person.

The main event at one of them was Mark Coleman grappling with a training partner because his opponent was injured. When the crowd booed he got on the mic and fussed at everyone about it.

Well hopefully the Argies go crazy for Santiago. If its even half as crazy like their Boca River games then it should be epic.

Yeah I'm def going to take it easy before on the drinks. Cant believe Rumble fought Hardy! Insanity.

UFC 81 Nogueira vs Sylvia. I was a pro wrestling fan as a kid so when Lesnar came to the UFC i watched it and thought it was kinda cool but didnt watch closely also knew of guys like Ken Shamrock so i watched every now and than, a good friend of mine has been into the UFC way longer and when Anderson was the champ he would usually tell me when he would fight but i only watched it on occasion until like 2 to 3 years ago when i got into UFC because of the Games, it helped me remember fighters and it made me wanna watch them fight so i started to watch closely.

Yeah good point. Only ever met one fighter before, Paul Daley and he was a really cool guy. Seen Faber Penn at a UFC gym once but didn't bother because they were surrounded.

Yeah I think I played the game early 2000 or late 90s and all i member is Titos blonde big head.

The fun part of it was that at one of them, I don't remember which, my brother and I were leaving feeling a little ripped off. After all, the tickets were $22 each. We were on the way out and I spotted a twenty on the floor. I bent down and scooped it up just before a kid who was about 10 grabbed it. Looking back, I kind of wish I had let the kid grab it instead of me.
