1-4 in his last 5.

35 years old

45 fights on the clock + 7 (kick)boxing bouts

never going to get a belt

not improving

4 fights in 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016
3 in 2017 and 2 in 2018 so far

He's been super active and the UFC has given him plenty of favourable fights and plenty of opportunities and main events. He's just not moving forward at this point in fact he is moving backwards now. He's starting to get (T)KOed more often. He's getting hit more often whatever the result of the fight in fact. Slowing down.

Cowboy has been in the UFC for over 7 years now, he's had a good run and it's time to call it a day. Either retire from MMA completely or at least move to another organisation for some $$$ fights.

Na, he still wants to fight. UFC will let him fight. Diego Sanchez is the 1 that needs to retire.

He's also fighting guys 10-15lbs bigger, and he's never been one to like pressure.

Only fight where he lost to a guy of similar size is Masvidal at 70.

The rest are up and coming kids who damn well bullied him with size and pressure.

He needs a 160 division.

He would still finish a lot of low level guys at WW so he has no reason to retire.

Just take some steps down in competition and rack up some paychecks.

Or cut to LW again and call out someone in the top 10.

Donald still got fight game but fighting top WW's should not be on menu for him any longer, that fight clock is ticking faster and faster...

Were you watching the fight? Edwards looked at least 10-15 lbs bigger.

Ive seen Edwards fight, that dude legit looked as big as an MW. But then again the MWs looked like LHWs. These guys are bigger in real life.

yeah watched the whole card at work. i didnt notice any disparity in size, only youth

Donald vs Condit as a last fight for both.

Hes one of Dana's boys so he will get to fight, deserving or not.

Dropping out of that group trying to start a fighters union set him up with Dana for life.

Why do posters feel the need to claim loudly that a fighter needs to retire? Why can't a fighter retire on their own terms? He himself said he's got a lot left in the tank, he even said that after the bloody fight. I think he's the guy who would know whether it's quitting time or not.

Edwards had a considerably bigger torso, bigger and thicker back, and is taller. This was at weigh ins, Edwards hydrated up way bigger, like Till.

Lowkey hate to agree with you, but you're right. Cowboy should be the gatekeeper to the top 10-15. He loves to fight, is still good at it (obviously not as good as he used to be), and is a fan favorite cus he always comes to fight. He's also a good name for up and comers to add to their resume.

Let 'em bang, bro.

Why does Sherdog want everyone over 30 that loses a fight to retire?

Younger and probably just a little bigger, Cerrone has been losing a lot lately but he is losing to top competition (mostly) and he isnt getting KTFO'd left and right, he should take on some names instead of young contenders on a streak tho.

Not starting shit, just curious why you always embold a fighters name? Is there a reason why?

Cowboy has earned the right to decide for himself when its time to retire. Not have it in the hands of some Shertard.
