I don’t know if it has earned the name “premium organization”
With the way the UFC is conducting business theses day it might as well be the premium organization.
You are right
Rampage and Sonnen are way way past their primes.
Rory might be the best WW in the world, he just ran into a bad matchup with Wonderboy but I think he can beat any other WW in the world right now. Could come back and be champ.
Ex UFC fighters compete for Bellator?
What are you on about? Bellator runs things in a far worse manner, the UFC is just held to a higher standard.
Bellator still can't even put on a remotely successful PPV. And I don't mean by UFC standards, they can't do it even by their own standards. Last attempt they had a modest goal of 200K buys, while throwing everything they could at it and going as far as to call it the "greatest combat sports PPV of the year", and they were so far off they never released the numbers and to this day don't talk about what that PPV did.
The same one with shows that are tape-delayed?
I absolutely agree.
Bellator does way too many stupid things to take advantage.
Hahaha. I don't think you're using premium correctly.
Is this the same "premium organization" that has prelim fighters sell tickets in order to appear on the card and get paid peanuts?
Bellator has been around for nearly a decade.
This is the thing I don't get. The next biggest promotion in the country is belittled as bush league because it forces fighters to basically go panhandling on the streets and facebook but the UFC cannot be considered a monopoly because it does not have the wherewithal to dictate terms and fighters do not really need a union because its the free market duh.
The same premier org which:
- is too lazy to put out a schedule for their fightcards so you are never 100% sure about the bout order
- has postlims/dark prelims
- has a shitload of tape delayed events
- geoblocked streams in countries without TV deals
The next card might be better than the UFC, but Bellator is a bushleague when it comes to their information policy, it's outright embarassing for the #2 org.
Yeah it's all about money not the sport and they don't treat their titles right. I hear they're main eventing two past their primes fighters; one an old MW the other an old LHW as part of a HW title eliminator. A HW title multiple champs of the org have pretty much walked away from without fighting for the org and that has been ignored for like a year.
And they are promoting those has beens who made their name in some other org as the main event over two of the most legit WW's in the world that are still in their prime. I mean isn't that scenario a compete joke?
Don't get me started on one of the most pathetic UFC fights that could've been the most damaging thing to MMA, a Kimbo-Dada main event where the one amateur scrub nearly died in the ring.
And as many in this forum have stated for years. Goldie is a joke, guys like Jimmy Smith are the best most professional commentators. Oh wait the opposite of all that is true because it's not happening under the UFC logo.
Okay so they haven't always handled the prestigious HW title but properly but at least they've always handled the toughest division in MMA, their LW title properly..oh wait, that's right.
IMO you can't be the premier org until you have guys on the undercard making 1k and hawking tickets for the event.
Never go full retard.
I haven't read the rest of this thread but I'm sure people have pointed out many examples of how Bellator runs things. UFC is simply just held to a higher standard. Things are pretty good when about the only thing people bitch about is this small time frame of some title defenses, Reebok deal, and Dana White's demeanor.
