SIR

Dutch to English translation.

The UFC has added a new fight to the UFC Fight Night 143 (also UFC on ESPN + 1) card in Brooklyn, New York on January 19, 2019. The Brazilian Thomas Almeida takes over in the Bantamweight division against Cory Sandhagen. Both fighters meet in the Octagon of the Barclays Center. The pairing will probably be part of the Main Card.

Thomas Almeida (MMA 22-3 / UFC 5-3) entered the UFC in 2014 with an undefeated record. The Chute Boxe fighter immediately impressed by winning in a Fight of the Night performance by Timmy Gorman. It was only the first time in Almeida's career that he could not decide a fight early. Then in 2015 Almeida would win the Performance of the Night bonus three times in succession. Yves Jabouin, Brad Pickett and Anthony Birchak were finished with KO. MMA fans all over the world saw Almeida as the contender in the future on UFC gold. Almeida (now climbed to # 5 in the rankings) was matched against Cody Garbrandt. Garbrandt was also undefeated. Almeida did not know what to do with the speed and agility of Garbrandt and lost in the first round via TKO. Almeida, who had such a great start in the UFC, then managed to wash away the filthy taste of his first loss for his own public by finishing Albert Morales in the second round via TKO. The fight gave Almeida his fifth UFC bonus in six fights. However, it went wrong again in July 2017 during UFC Long Island for the Brazilian. The talented Jimmie Rivera was too strong through Unanimous Decision. Almeida then returned to the Octagon in January 2018 during UFC 220 in Boston against Rob Font. Once again, Almeida was unconvincing and he was finalized in the second round via TKO.

Cory Sandhagen (MMA 9-1 / UFC 2-0) started his Pro-MMA career in 2015. Sandhagen who competes for Elevation Fight Team is seen as a great talent in American MMA scene. Sandhagen started his career with five victories, including two of them in the highly regarded RFA. After the RFA went hand in hand with Legacy Fighting, the brand new LFA was born in 2017. Sandhagen fought his LFA debut against Jamal Emmers but lost through Unanimous Decision. However, in his subsequent two fights for the organization, Sandhagen was able to revive himself. He won through TKO in the first round of Toninho Gavinho, and he flew that same trick again against Jose Aguayo. Sandhagen was then contracted by the UFC and eight days later (January 2018) he made his debut at UFC Charlotte against Austin Arnett. Sandhagen fought hard and defeated Arnett via TKO in the second round. Sandhagen then went down a weight class to the Bantamweight division. During UFC Lincoln in August 2018 he met the Brazilian Iuri Alcantara. Alcantara knew Sandhagen early to strike and seemed to him through an Armbar Submission to finish. However, Sandhagen miraculously came loose and knew in the sequel to completely dominate Alcantara with ground and pound. In the end, the fight via TKO in favor of Sandhagen was decided early in the second round. Both men retained the Fight of the Night bonus.

This guy Sandhagen has shown great heart in his fight against Alcantara cant wait to see him back.
Almeida seems to have a glass jaw tho

Damn Almeida going to sleep again. Dude is a great fighter but his chin is Overeem level

Love me some Sexymaida, that Chute Boxe violence...

Not sure who wins this. Sandhagen looked great against Alcantara. But, how good is Sandhagen's stand up? For all Almeida's flaws, he is a really solid striker with good fundamentals. Sometimes he has good head movement, other times.. it is non-existent.
