This fighter is the next *all time great* FAILS

Todd Duffee was my only big swing and miss; but he taught me not to fall for the Ford Escort hype

I’m sure everyone here is either too young or a WWE crossover fan, so you guys won’t remember Dave Terrell.

I was CONVINCED Rony Jason would be the featherweight champion at some point

N-gone-eww

The next Ford Escort, with turbo and nitrous.

Todd Duffee. People already said he'd look great with the belt on

Vitor Belfort was supposed to be the next big thing way back when

Randy Couture had something to say about that

Another one is "Welcome to the Machida Era"

Shogun had something to say about that
1-1 with Machdia. Although people will dispute it.

Disagree about Adesanya.

Kimbo Slice comes to mind.

Is it really early enough to say that Israel Adesanya has failed? He is still undefeated and won a close decision in his last outing. Hell, Jon Jones strugged against Gusmao. I'm not saying his ceiling is as high as Jon's could have been, but he's still in his twenties and is developing as a fighter.

Well Adesanya pieced Brad Tavares up in his last fight and basically had a clean sweep on the judges scorecards, and while Tavares isnt elite, hell give anyone a tough time. I was very impressed with just how much better Adesanya looked than Tavares in there.

I agree with you, I dont get why people arent giving him the respect he deserves, hes still young and is still going to improve quite a bit and will always have a distinct striking advantage over anyone he faces.

Plenty of fighters had a fight or two that was too close for comfort en route to getting the title. I think he definitely has potential to hold the title, especially with how old the elite are at 185, and I think he can match up well with Whittaker since hes the better striker.

I remember before Mike Ricci got in the ufc when he fought Pat Curran they were saying he was like the next GSP. Then he got KO'd and took his first pro loss.

That kid looked like the real deal and had such potential, he just never really improved after TUF

I'll say it, so bring on the flame throwing.

Rickson. But in a weird way. Saku fucked his whole family up and he did fookin' nootin'.

One that did live up to the hype was Akiyama. He's still the Sexy GOAT with no one even remotely close to being a contender. Not even Carano.

I really liked Charles Oliveira when he got to the UFC.
