Many of the greatest leaders in history, including Kings, have submitted when it was required. Standing up to an overwhelming force and getting destroyed doesn't make you a great king, it makes you a dead idiot, no?

They might as well get destroyed. All they're doing is making Negan's group stronger. They're living their meager lives just to make the Saviors' lives easier. They're in a post-apocalyptic world that's gone to shit, and it's even shittier under the thumb of a barbwire baseball bat-wielding psychopath. That ain't no way to live. What is the long-term outlook with the Saviors around? To me, they looked screwed if they do nothing. What happens when they start missing quotas? What happens when the resources dry up and they can no longer sustain themselves plus give the Saviors their share? What happens when Negan or some other lunatic in his group wants something they either can't provide or don't want to provide? I wouldn't want to live my life on the whim of a madman.

They have Alexandria, The Hilltop and their own group, but he still chooses to stand idly by, and for what? To continue to eke out a shit existence in a bleak world that has no hope with a group like the Saviors around. If you want to start fixing the world and give mankind a chance, then you have to put an end to evil and not submit to it. Or, at least get the fuck away from the area. Why do these groups stick around and serve a lunatic like that? I know relocating a sizable population wouldn't be easy, but the Saviors don't enter The Kingdom, so he could relocate people bit by bit.

Okay its fun to speculate do you think Simon will be the first Saviour leader Rick will hack with a Machete?

Hopefully Simon switches sides during the upcoming war and Rick sends him to Hilltop to terrorize Gregory into submission.

Interesting episode. A lot of wasted time but that seems to be the pace of the show now. Spend 6-7 episodes explaining what you could explain in 2 and then have a big death or big event for mid season finale and season finale.

The goth group is just hilarious. Why did they have to spend 2 minutes walking in circles in criss cross patterns?? lol. I love the comments, starbucks, hipsters, 80s 90s goth metal...lol

I'm trying to just throw logic out the window at this point. How could all these groups live so close and never run into each other until now? How in the world does Negan not realize there is a junkyard the size of a small city in his area? How does he not have spies hanging out at the locations to see if they are working together? Especially he knows Daryl escaped you'd think he be placing spies to watch all the different groups of people. He knows they can't beat him one and one so you'd be pretty sure he's ensuring that they don't group together to fight him. Or he's just so arrogant at this point.

It was cool to see Daryl get his crossbow back though.

The writing is really bad...I still don't know why they would use arrows when there is one lonely zombie, then "my sister had a dress like that". The Garbage Group was comically bad, something out of a TMNT comic maybe. They were all feral and living in trash. The leader's hair and hand signals were cringy. Then Rick tries to hit the zombie with a keyboard. <45>Micchone: "The walls! Use them!"

It's fun to watch this now, just for how cheesy it can be sometimes.

Not really liking the garbage pail group except for the iron maiden walker. The leader's hair is just ridiculous.

No character on the show has ever annoyed me as much as Rosita. I wish she'd get killed off but Kirkman's pretty much a feminist so I doubt any female character will ever get killed off.

HAHA. I had to do a double take to make sure that this was the official Walking Dead thread and not some knock off one. Anyways this show is officially garbage to me. I just watched the mid season premier yesterday at the expense of a hour of sleep and totally regretted it. I was close to shutting it off at the bomb defusal part.

Rick gets surrounded by a literal herd of walkers and not one is able to grab ahold or scratch him.

3/10. Will still watch, but no longer care. It was funny, 2 seasons back I was crying about people dropping spoilers, now I give absolutely zero fooks. Reading them would probably be more entertaining than the episodes to be frank.

Liked the episode.

I like the show. It's not about crazy cool shit happening all the time, but from most of the complaints I've been seeing for seven years, some people still don't get that.

That's the entire purpose of the series though, it wasn't intended to be some crazy all out zombie action show.

Yeah but the point is this show fails hard in the drama/character department. So if we can't just get zombie gore porn every episode why torture us with this half assed attempt at drama. You have to be pretty oblivious to see that this show hasn't gone down the shitter. It's like some bad Sci-Fi channel show at this point. If the make up and zombie effects weren't so good that's what the show would essentially be.

It bothered me too at first but it's obviously an affect, something to distinguish herself and her followers. We've all known cliques who have done exactly the same thing.

Love Pollyanna Macintosh, always have, she's very interesting.

Is that the leader chick? She was interesting. Good charisma as an actress, even working within the goofy writing & production.

Veering further into the nonsensical... I like how it's only been what, maybe 3-4 years since the apocalypse, but this new group only speaks in autistic broken English, as if civilization was gone for 25 years. Every one of these motherfuckers was in school a few years ago, or working at a starbucks, there wouldn't be any groups of completely wild humans, with this 'Me want gun. You get' bullshit. Or a leader wearing some Matrix outfit, with neatly cut & styled hair dyed at the tips. This show is feeling more and more like Star Trek or some shit.

Anyway I still enjoyed it. With my lowered expectations such as they are.

Well, just watched the second ep. It's comforting to know that in 3 years after everything goes to shit, this will be the type of person leading swaths of angry raiders.
