The UFC needs to resign Kyoji Horiguchi.

He made the right choice...more $$$ easier opponents.

His fight against mm he was living in a studio. UFC = cheap

I'd love to see him back in the UFC but that shit ain't happenin.

You know Rizin is building towards a fight between Horiguchi and Nasukawa. That's shit will be the biggest fight in Japan since Pride died. I am talking selling out a fucking stadium Shockwave style.

Idfk why they ever let him go.

And how are they gonna do that? Gucci is a big star in Japan, he's making a killing destroying cans there (although his last opponent mini Saku was pretty good), and he's wearing Reebok kit that actually allows individual sponsor logos. The UFC will never be able to offer him a competitive contract. Gucci's only motivation for coming back to the UFC was to defeat the reigning champion MM who beat him, and now that ship has sailed too.
Kyoji hasn't been fighting cans, other than Hideo Tokoro.

I think he should stay. Rizin needs young talent to build, they can't survive on pride veteran and shocker fights.

They can't afford him, so the only reason he comes back is to say he beat the champion. Other then that he's making more and is more famous in Japan. He has also fought pretty solid fighters (arguably 2-3 top 10 fighters in his last few fights) so it's not like most divisions when you leave the ufc and only cans are available to fight.

Either way he won't leave until he fights Tenshin, which they are clearly trying to set up sometime here in the future.

Over half of his opponents after leaving the UFC don't even have Wikipedia pages. If he were still in the UFC he'd be fighting much better ranked flyweights.

He said he eventually will fight in the UFC again, and DJ wants to travel. So somewhere down the line I'm sure those two will meet again.

Aside from that Rizin isn't doing to hot rating wise. Not sure if they are around much longer anyway.

I hope he comes back too

Maybe, but Gabriel Oliveria doesn't have a wikipedia page, yet he was a undefeated featherweight who was coming off a knockout win over Tatsuya Kawajiri. That's not a can.

Hiromasa Ogikubo doesn't have a wikipedia, yet he did great on TUF, beating many UFC fighters, and hasn't lost in 8 years other than to Horiguchi. Not a can.

Yuki Motoya is respected, Horiguchi being his only loss since a split to Wada in 2012. Not a can.

None of his opponents (other than Tokoro) were losing record cans. Its been legitimate competition for the most part.

This is a ridiculous criteria lol.

For the record, 5/7 of his post-UFC opponents have wikipedia pages.

And the ones that don't, Kape is a dangerous prospect who beat Ian McCall and Erson Yamamoto (another prospect) to face Horiguchi.
And Oliveira was 10-0 145lber who was coming off a KO over Kawajiri.

He went 7-1 in the UFC. Losing only to Mighty Mouse. He's won his last 10 in a row. Including 3 in the UFC. He's 25-2. He's a very skilled fighter. He's only 27. The UFC needs him back.

Henry Cejudo, Demetrious Johnson, Sergio Pettis, Joseph Benavidez and Kyoji Horiguchi would make a very sold Top 5 in the Flyweight division. Especially with a new champ.

thoughts?

ufc didn't want to pay him and rizin was more than willing to over pay and feed him all those cans since.

Yuki Motoya - no wiki page, #105 Taplogy WW ranking
Gabriel Oliviera - no wiki page, #166 Taplogy WW ranking
Manel Kape - no wiki page, #103 Taplogy WW ranking
Hiromasa Ogikubo - no wiki page, #84 Taplogy WW ranking

Now let's compare those to some ranked UFC flyweights whom he would surly be fighting instead:

Sergio Pettis: #3 Tapology WW ranking
Joseph Benavidez: #4 Tapology WW ranking
Ray Borg: #5 Tapology WW ranking
John Moraga: #7 Tapology WW ranking
Wilson Reis: #8 Tapology WW ranking
Jussier Formiga: #6 Tapology WW ranking
Henry Cejudo: current champion
Demetrious Johnson: former champion

I mean it's not even close. It's easy to cobble together a good looking record when you're not fighting top competition.
