He went 7-1 in the UFC. Losing only to Mighty Mouse. He's won his last 10 in a row. Including 3 in the UFC. He's 25-2. He's a very skilled fighter. He's only 27. The UFC needs him back.

Henry Cejudo, Demetrious Johnson, Sergio Pettis, Joseph Benavidez and Kyoji Horiguchi would make a very sold Top 5 in the Flyweight division. Especially with a new champ.

thoughts?

They are cheapskates they won't, they let great talent let Gegard and Rory go too

Good luck with that. Dude is a star in Rizin, their top fighter. He ain't leaving.

And how are they gonna do that? Gucci is a big star in Japan, he's making a killing destroying cans there (although his last opponent mini Saku was pretty good), and he's wearing Reebok kit that actually allows individual sponsor logos. The UFC will never be able to offer him a competitive contract. Gucci's only motivation for coming back to the UFC was to defeat the reigning champion MM who beat him, and now that ship has sailed too.

Why would he? American fans don't respect flyweights as much as the Japanese do and he gets paid more over at RIZIN. He has nothing to gain

Yes, he'd be a great addition. And he lost to MM 3 years ago and while he was on his way to losing a decision, he didn't get as badly dominated compared to most others MM has fought.

Ogikubo should have been signed right after TUF. They almost always give the semi-finalists at least one fight in the UFC. He also beat the #1 seed on the show and at the very least would be good to throw on cards on Asia. Have no idea why they chose not to sign him. All of those guys that season should have gotten at least one fight, it was billed as a season full of smaller org champs but they didn't really bother to sign too many of them afterwards. Very strange.

Getting paid and treated like a star... Doubt it.

Because UFC doesn't give a shit about the Japanese market. It's very low on their list of regional priorities. UFC's expansion in Japan has failed as miserably as the Xbox.

Either way he should have been signed lol. On skill alone he was a good addition

He wouldn't be paid what he's worth. And he's worth more than a Reebok fight kit.

He's gettin' paid pretty well in Rizin
Fight mostly at 135 lately

He is a star in Japan... also I think Rizin was going to give him some kickboxing fights and he is down for it.
